Inselngruppe? It does seem unsuitable to refer to the British Isles as an archipeligo. It sounds too foreign. We need to think of a suitably Saxonic and cold name. A Coronet of Islands, or The Imperium or some such.
What? Does that even make sense? Why don't we have the British Isles as all the islands, Britain as mainland Great Britain and Great Britain as Britain plus immediate/proximate islands - Skye/Wight, etc. That would be sensible.

and all the rest) is the British Isles. Great Britain is the big bit. With that spelling?Anyway, this thread/
I feel I've inadvertantly stepped into the Pedantics Dept

In the diagram, which of the "minor islands" are show as being in the UK?The diagram is quite good, in that it correctly shows a lot of the relationships, and that some of the minor islands are in the UK but are not "Great Britain"...
It doesn't detail them, but shows that there is a set called The British Isles, a sub set of which is the UK, a subset of which is Great Britain, which itself divides into England etc.In the diagram, which of the "minor islands" are show as being in the UK?

He hasn't missed the fact at all. Either you are unable to read properly or you are being a tit. Which is it?You continue to [deliberately] miss the fact that Ireland is: a)not in Britain and b) not British. Either there is a massive gap in your historical knowledge or you're being a tit. which is it?

yes that is trueAt the risk of sounding flippant, what is correct and logical is more important than what you 'like' or are 'happy living in geographically' (and i'm hardly pro-UK!).
isn't it better to define geographically than politcially though? He hasn't missed the fact at all. Either you are unable to read properly or you are being a tit. Which is it?![]()

You wouldn't really want to see or discuss the minutiae of Irish politics, outside of life or death politics in NI its really just very woeful down south.
