A question about typing for PAs...

My old boss used to do it. I'd print out all his emails and stick them in his in-tray.

He'd stick them in his out-tray for me with the response that I was to type. You'd think the time it took him to write the response and for me to type it, it would have been quicker to just reply on his computer.

Heh - I had that when I worked as a PA in the civil service too

I've worked as a senior PA for nearly 10 years and that was a one off though. My last couple of bosses have been incredibly computer literate and manage their own email. I tend to deal with the more organisational stuff. My typing speed has gone to shit in the last 5 years!!

No what i am doing now is mind numbing boring, but also i am currently the EA's bitch as well, so like tomorrow i am coming in early because she cant be arsed despite it being a meeting for her boss and i have to just take it, my contract is very vague as to what duties for the CEO's office i actually cover.

Quite close to tears again at the moment, first 6 months of this job my boss was a bullying cunt to the point where i cried nearly every day, then this stuff with the EA started where i was doing an 1.5 hours of her job a day for no money, no time back, it only stopped when i got too sick to physically do the time, then things were good for a bit, and now i feel like its going to shit again. And i know that if i kick back about all the little things she has been wheedling for me to do (her fucking filing!!!), it will come back to bite me in the arse.

I know i can be a slacker, not gonna deny it, but i am good at my job when a) allowed to get on with it b) there is something to actually do.
