I can only be certain about the CDRW question, the others will have to wait until more knowledable people show up.
If you use a CDRW, you can finalize it, and still erase the disk afterwards. There's no 'read only' mode to those disks, you can't stop people erasing them.
So, yes. You can create a bootable CDRW and write over it later.

,,,I'm using Nero Express...could that be why it's not working,,,I reckon there a setting somewhere I'm missing that set floppy/cd/dvd...jus lookin now...
