A frame-y / groupset question, like.

I gave her Sigmund's assessment of Bianchis earlier today :D

She is hofficially houtraged :D

Which bit? The bit about the frames cracking up (I said in my post it was alu frames, NA to the pista) or the bit about them being nothing special?

Pista is a fucking ugly bike anyway imho - terrible welds, naff finish and so-so components - but then I am a self confessed bike (s)nob.

it was the second entry level production line track bike after the fuji and is remarkably similar for a mere 100% price increase. the wonders of italian branding :D

says the self confessed colnago aficionado
:o

Ernesto makesa lot of his frames in 'east Italy' these days doesn't he?:D

The fuji is actually a much nicer looking bike imho. The SE Lager remains the best value off the peg fixer I think but Spesh probably sell 40 Langsters to every SE.

Specifically?

"It's the Italian Raleigh."

Or words to that effect.

Mortified.

Mortified.

:D

Nothing wrong with Raleigh - they made some fine bikes - and look like they're starting to do so again (just not in Nottingham:(). What I meant was they're not to be considered exotica in much the same way that Trek and Specialized aren't, so don't believe the hype.

That's why she was mortified ;)

if by alot you mean all and by east italy taiwan then yes, that's exactly the case. ;)

i'm not all that keen on the modern stuff, i've got an early 90s columbus frameset, i think it's the champion? with the partially fluted tubes, it's loooovely. the only one i want more is the ti version which is just utterly
