How time flies when you're having fun
I miss Dr. Jazzz.
I took a half day when it happened and sent my team home after someone said that someone in the pub said there were a squadron of bad 747's heading for London. I also had the couple of days off, just in case.
don't forget allende
Oddly, I had the day off work for some reason that I can no longer remember. Other half was away so I was at home by myself. I put on a New York radio station through the internet - watched the BBC pics, VHSed everything and posted like mad on some interweb board (might have been Urban, but might have been a bit too early for Urban).
I never got round to watching the VHS.
they started building this fucker on 9-11 too! In 1941.
This year, I'll be serving people (uni students) who are too young to remember it happening. Possibly been true for a year or two, actually.
I got home from a morning college class to see the second plane hitting. Took a while to comprehend what was really going on.
9/11 is actually what sent me here originally. I'd been a lurker for a few months when it happened. I came here during the aftermath to see what the world thought of it and why. Learned a lot.
I, like Trump recall seeing the Muslims cheering in New Jersey as the towers fell.
I remember being glued to the tv watching it unfold. A friend of mine was supposed to be in one of the towers but for reasons he still doesn't know he changed his mind and took a day off.
I was in a cafe in Belfast. Someone came in and announced that a plane had hit a skyscraper in New York. Then I dropped into Bookfinders and the girl at the counter said "that was a terrible thing that happened in New York, wasn't it".
By the time I got into work the full reality was clear. I remember the death toll was initially estimated as being as high as 20,000.
They're saying now that as many people have died from the health injuries as died in the initial aftermath. Its an ever changing number.
9/11 death and injury total still rising
it's not for another couple of months!
Don't worry, only something that happened on 9 November
Hard to think there's kids growing up being taught 9/11 in school and to them it's just part of history that old farts will talk about.
I was on honeymoon! We were in the Cotswolds, our attempt at a country walk was curtailed by foot and mouth ,after we came across another field closed we went back to the cottage , turned the telly on thinking there might be an old film on ,and caught the start of it all . Didn't go out the rest of the day .
I see the loons are all over the place once again.
it's good to know history hasn't ended
that story's a year auld
rumours of its death have been greatly exaggerated
i'm teaching them now.
i remember when i had to explain to students who the beatles were. /old
If you and Mrs. Marty ever decide on a second honeymoon, I think it would be very nice if you were to warn us all first. You don't exactly seem to be followed by good luck.
The toll is ever rising, New York, Iraq, Afganistan...
not at all. mr & mrs marty21 are followed by good luck. good luck always seems to be a mile or two behind them.
