heh :D I'm listening to discharge now, which reminded me of 'And still men and women drag out their photo albums in misery, in misery' from this:

'Can you hear the sound of an enormous goose honking in the depths of hell?'

Just Like Heaven and Inbetween Days are about as goth as I went. None less goth I suppose.

I have heard a Red Lorry Yellow Lorry album, if that helps? It wasn't very good.

I was a goth in 88/89. Used to listen to Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Alien Sex Fiend, Fields of the Nephilim ( :o ), The Cure, March Violets etc.

Anyone used to go to Wraith? A squatted goth/punk/industrial night in London.

Yeah i used to go to Wraith quite a lot, particularly when in was around the Old Street area. Couldn't see for all the smoke machines, and the smoke used to make my heavily back combed, heavily sprayed hair go flat and sticky:D

I remember the Old St venue. When I first went it was in the old EMI building on Denmark Alley/Charing X Rd, then moved to Southampton Row then Old St.

Mad times.

Yeah i went to the Denmark Alley venue once, then went regularly to the Old Street ones.
From the pic you put up, your face, or what i can see of it, is certainly familiar.

I've always been fairly eclectic in my music tastes, but there's a definite goth influence to what I was listening to in the late 80s.

Sisters of Mercy and The Mission, obviously, but also bands like Ghost Dance and Xmal Deutschland.

Also All About Eve, who somehow seem to be lumped in with the goth stuff even though they have more of dark folk-rock feel to them.

I was a "proto-goth" in the late seventies and early eighties, listening to the Banshees, the Cure, Killing Joke, Bauhaus etc. I liked some of the "first wave of Goth", but by the late eighties it was getting pretty fucking derivative, and "Goth" got to be more about fashion than music.
IMO, of course.
