Stash a camping stove somewhere and buy the food from the 24-hour Co-op on the Strand.

this is actually a great idea, as it brings you out on Waterloo Bridge (the best view etc)
Just not hot food

You could check the tides and maybe set up camp on one of the beaches there on the Southbank and nearby. There’s one at Gabriel’s Wharf and another near…. Hang on, I can see it my mind’s eye…. ETA anyway, the one closer to Southbank where they do the sand sculptures.


The effort involved could be a pain in the arse but the pay off would be great.

A couple of those disposable BBQ trays would do the job.

Coda: in the end it was fucking freezing at 3am when we left venue, but dragged 20 survivors off to Duck & Waffle (no space at the inn) then Polo Bar where we were happily accommodated in a room to ourselves for breakfast, lagers/espresso martinis for some and pots of tea for most. What a great place.
