3rd division ( league 1 ) 2009/2010 thread

cool! didn't realise that. i'm sure me and/or jtg will be taking you up on that. a lot depends on whether i still have the same job at the end of september.

I didn't know you were moving either. That's a bit :( (from an entirely selfish point of view!)

JTG: is Joe Jacobson any good? The only footage i can find of him is when he broke Kieron Dyer's leg.

jtg's away at the moment. joe jacobson has got the potential to be a fantastic player, he was unlucky for us because he got injured last season, and when he got fit again couldn't force his way back into the team. he lacked a lot of match practice which is why on the few occasions he did appear for us last season, he looked poor, but as long as you get him fit and playing well, you'll have a cracking player on your hands. needs to step up quickly though, because potentially he could play in the championship, but another poor season and he'll be looking at a career in the bottom divisions after looking so promising to begin with. i liked him, though he did get a hard time off some people for looking so completely off the pace at times last season.

I was impressed with him when I saw your lot play Barnet a couple of seasons back .

I don't think we've conceeded a goal yet in our pre-seasons. Cardiff on Saturday though so we'll see how that goes.

The kick off for our first game away at Gillingham has been moved to 12:30.

We drew the final game in Austria 3-3. Pretty sure at least one of the other matches was a score draw too.

I wish we'd hurry up and sign a striker or two! I'm sure there are irons in the fire, but the club tend to play their cards close to their chest these days. Suppose we just have to wait and see.

I'm encouraged by our signings so far though, we should be much stronger defensively this season.

I missed most of the Austria stuff cos I was on holiday.

Agree we need strikers, if that gets sorted I'll be feeling pretty positive.

surprised we've managed to hold on to Lambert (for the moment) but the lack of other signings means I dont expect too different a season to last. i predict a dabble with the play offs but missing out and finishing 7th-10th

Busy week at Oldham - we've announced plans to move to a new ground (again - i'll believe it when it starts getting built), and we've signed someone more famous for banging Jade Goody than for playing football. Exciting times.

You've signed Jack Tweed?

We really weren't very impressive against Plymouth on Saturday. Really missing a goalscorer (or even someone who will shoot).

The pitch looks nice though.

disappointment,frustration,infuriating refereeing decisions....ah it's good to have it back isn't ;)

Leeds' 6th attempt at promotion (we managed a relegation in the meantime) got off to a decent enough start today.

Wycombe hee we come.

lol-ety lol.

What makes it more lol is that I can all but guarantee that result would not have happened if I had been able to go. We'd have lost about seven nil, probably.

Well up for the home game though, you can kip at mine if you like?

We (Yeovil) had great start at the weekend, 2-0 over

8 new players in the line up, I thought we would be lucky get a draw particularly against the unknown effect John Barnes may have had over Tranmere...but by all accounts it was relatively comfortable.

grrr, darn you.....

Considerng we (tranmere) were playing a bunch of teenagers I should probably consider only losing by two to be pretty good going!
