3rd division ( league 1 ) 2009/2010 thread

It's shaping up to be Third Division South next season. Bury or Rochdale had better come up through the play offs.

Interesting idea but i'll be very, very surprised if there isn't a thread on the Bristol City boards plotting to raise enough to emblazon 'Bristol City FC' across the shirt for the whole of next season.

If they're stupid enough to do that then thanks for the donation and some other entrant will get chosen

They are a bit dim over there so anything's possible

we'll still fucking own it

it's all about the quality on the terraces innit :)

Ah, I've been thinking about this since a while back.

How many grounds in Div 3 will have terraces? I haven't been on one for ages in this country - looking forward to that, and trips to interesting places.

Hmmm

Rovers, Yeovil, Brentford & Exeter are the only ones with terraced away ends. Possibly not even us if we decide to give you the tent end and keep the terrace for us

shame innit

In fact, thinking about it, us and Carlisle have the only grounds in the division with terracing on three sides of them. Carlisle give the away fans seats and only open the away terracing for really big followings

Thanks - not sure how many will get up to Carlisle, bound to be a Tuesday night in February that one

Exeter and Brentford were definatly on the list anyway. Yeovil may as well be; we'll see about Rovers ;) A lot depends on how many keep going away - it has been huge numbers, to the extent when you can't get a ticket. Not sure if that will stay or not...

They only came up with that after they came to our place & saw the draw we were doing to name the Stratton Bank.

Terrace- in addition to what's already been said- Yeovil is uncovered & Brentford is covered (away seats are in the tier above). I'm not been to Exeter. Rover's terrace is uncovered (if they give it to you- they don't give it to us).

Orient have a terraced away end.

I think that finished a while back, mate.

Yeovil's a rubbish day out tbh

Reckon it would be more like a weekend - at least one night if not two with two small children, so I guess there's enough to do around the area.

Thanks for all the heads up and whathaveyou. Do Wycombe still have an away terrace? I remember an FA cup game a long, long time ago when there was a nice little terrace there.

Oh well, never mind. That might be on the list as I know people close by, we'll see.

Where, other than Bristol of course ;), is worth going? Bearing in mind it's a long way to a motorway from here...

Good away pub with strippers at Wycombe if you're into that kind of thing. Maybe not with 2 small kids though tbf.

i think they've just mutually agreed to terminate his contract. lazy journalism from the people reporting it

Odd stuff going on at Stockport. They were put into administration by a creditor days before they were due to pay off the debt. It would seem this creditor is also sniffing around with an interest in buying the club...

Hmmm, and indeed hmm.

We own this division.
Up the Gas
Ah, bless!

Anyway, apparently we're in for some Bosmans as soon as the season's officially over with a strong rumour being that David Noble is on his way after having a fall out with the fat dwarf over the river and being released. Apparently he's dead talented but likes to stroll it a little and has 'lifestyle issues' :hmm:
Lifestyle issues he might have, but if a player as talented as Nobes has to lower himself down to the level of Rovers then he's really let himself go.

It'll be a bit like...hmmm...well imagine, say, Jimi Hendrix joining McFly. Bit of a culture shock for all concerned I should think ;)

Wycombe vs Charlton for the 1st game then we have Leeds for the 2nd . Hopefully we'll get a couple of points from those games

Our final 2 games of the season are norwich at home, then leeds away. hopefully we'll already be safely promoted by then  :hmm:
