360 vs PSP!

my advice , get yourself a second hand psp ( ie an older generation ) , get DEV-HOOK , downgrade your firmware , then emulate to higher firmware ( ie 3.03 ) , download your games and play for nothing :D

Works for me ;)
Mr Spock, translation? :D

I have a 360 and got a PSP for Christmas.

I must admit I do not like the lack of pick up and play arcade games on the 360.

The PSP is a nice bit of kit, but isn't it on the way out as it's not really taken off?

Thats a common misconception, the PSP has sold about 10 million units worldwide (on par with the 360), its just that the DS has sold a LOT more. Now that Sony have the PS1 emulation sorted it might see a resurgence.

the DS is a toy designed to accomadate the lowest common denominator, as opposed to serious gamers. I have no interest in owning one or discussing it's merits. I'm sure its very exciting to play but after watching grown men play that godawful dogs game constantly my opinion is thus.

Why would i be more disappointed with a PSP? If you are going to make a statement like that you need to back it up otherwise whats the point? Thats why i'm asking this question!

The lack of quality games,, the lack of unique forms of gameplay, the lack of any ingenuity with the product, the lack of a decent wifi onling gaming experience, the shite battery life, the silly price of the machine, the lack of a gaming community surrounding the machine. Oh and the UMD system is just plain idiotic for a handheld; you see portable gaming works best when it's pick up and play, not pick up, wait five minutes for it to load, play then curse when the battery runs out...

The DS is a far superior gaming system (going by it's games).

fair point , but you telling youve never listened to a copied cd / taped off the radio , found money on the floor and kept it ?

If thats the case fair - play to you but I doubt even youre that pure.........
;)

Dunno about anyone else but most PSP games seem fine once you get past the intro... Oh, and who would you wifi in the tube/on a plane...? I think someone is just posting up mis-information, though... (ie free psp with some phone contracts, etc)

Free wifi in a coffee shop is cool if you ask me...

You were saying you could use wifi on the DS in coffee shops. The PSP has wifi too, so I don't see you point...

You mentioned why you would need it on the bus and I commented that to show there are other places you can use it while out and about (also alluding to a better online set up by Nintendo as mentioned earlier).

I just wish the 360 had some decent games right now! Theres no way im keeping it just to play overpriced arcade games!

I wouldn't mind arcade games!

It's all boring FPS shooters or GTA clones on the 360 at the moment (and this is as someone who owns a 360).

Viva Pinata is about the only orignal game on the 360 (and that is saying something :( )

Thats nice, but I've never really used the online part of the PSP. (Apart from downloading new courses/music/addoins for Wipeout). I really must play with the new Playstation online bit to download games but don't have the time at the mo...

With no centralised set up or decent games for it I'm not surprised.

video games all around nor any drop to drink.

I've had no luck selling my 360 at all, which actually surprises me (although its after christmas). I guess i could sell it for a lot less than i'd liek through the local CEX. Right now it's an expensive doorstop.

I think its more to with a lot of using a PSP on the Underground/airplanes where there isn't any wifi...

Dunno about the lack of decent games, but then I think your definition of a "decent game" is very different from mine...

How much is a second hand 360 worth these days?

well ive been asking £250 for my premium pack + plug and play charger kit. It also has the receipt and is well within warranty (buy with confidence viewers!). The shops seem to be selliing the same package for about a tenner more so i'm asking the top end. Unfortuantely people only really want to pay about half that and expect a damn sight more (loads of games); at least according to the wanted ads in the local free ads press.
Of course over time it will depreciate further.

keep the psyschoanalysis to yourself, along with your opinions on the game I enjoy. Neither are relevant. If you have nothing sensible to say then say nothing.
so you deny your neotenicity then ... intresting why aren't you preparred to wait til march only 2 months away for games to come out then...

It is? What do you think my 'definition' of a decent game is?

Well... Since you state there aren't any decent games for the PSP, and I contend there are, then perhaps we have a different perception of what a decent game is...?
