I have to say I agree that that was a fucking shite ending. It was a really good season, and then the last episode it seemed to just peter out.

I do wonder whether 24 has now run its course. They've already used the 'looking like he's going off the rails to protect family' thing in series 1 and then later with tony, and each time they've got a bit more half-arsed about it. In series 1 I think it ran over about 10-15 episodes... This one was just so 'we'll just throw in this plot device and then have jack reveal it to everyone else almost immediately'!

I know what you mean about the ending, but then 24 last eps haven't always delivered IMO...the best one being Chase and the axe of course

Gotta say as well, kudos to Pres Taylor for turning Olivia in - she's got more balls and a stronger moral centre than Palmer even...

Yeah agreed about the Pres - I just thought the very ending was a little unsatisfying compared with some - think, for instance, of Jack embracing whatserface, then being told he's got a phone call, only to be whisked away by chinese agents and wake up on a boat headed for china! That was an awesome ending!

I think I said it earlier in the thread, but I think it was genius on the part of the programme directors to get that Shawshank Redemption guy to be in it. He's so strongly associated with that role that the whole way through you just constantly think "He must turn out to be crooked, I mean he just looks so crooked, but it turned out he wasn't...

So I've been happily watching this on Sky 1 until this week - just found out my Tiscali + had some fit of madness and failed to record this (or Flight of the Conchords) Does it get re-shown at all? I'm too inept to use download things.

Hmm, I should work out how to do it really. Its not as easy as pressing a red button marked 'record' on my remote control though, and looks like Mondays episode is repeated Sunday night then the last 2 on Mon so I reckon I can wait till then and watch the last 3.

I downloaded these links. It went to limewire and opens in windows media player but I only get sound, no picture? Just swirling graphics. How do I get it to show the picture?

Sounds like you downloaded them, but are suffering from Windows Media Player Syndrome

I would download vlc - search for vlc media player

All getting too complicated. OK I'm downloading vlc now. We'll see what happens when that completes

Sound and no picture indicates that you have the correct 24 episodes, but not the right codecs on your WMP. VLC plays just about anything without the need for codecs.

OK we're up and running. vlc seems to work. Had to download it twice - the first time I got some kind of error when it installed so I used a different download site.

Thought I was gonna have to watch Aces High (which wouldn't be that bad a thing, might give it a look-see anyway) but now I can watch 24. Cheers.
