2021/22 season

No midweek matches until late October, and a two week gap between the first two fixtures due to the odd number of clubs in the division.

The National League can't even load the fixtures onto their own website in a user friendly manner, it's a pain in the neck trying to look at a handful of matches month by month.

Andi and I have updated the Google fixture calendar. Those that already subscribe should have them in your Google calendar now. Time to play spot the 'deliberate' mistake...

Think I need to reload that as I’ve just upgraded my phone so where do I find it, please?

Hi All,

I rolled my season membership from 2020-2021 to 2021-2022 and haven't received my ticket as yet! Understand its a slow process.

Just wondering if anyone else has received theirs!

Cheers

I had the following message by email from Bill Azzi last Friday:

"This is just a quick note to say your Multi Year Season Ticket covering the 2021/22 season will be sent in due course.
Though I can't yet tell you when the ticket will be posted, your details are recorded in the season ticket records, you haven't been forgotten "

There was another message the following day to say the season tickets may be in electronic form, which was the case last season.

Perhaps double check your email box for Friday and Saturday?

Goalkeepers
Charlie Grainger

Defence
Jack Holland
Tyrone Sterling
Quade Taylor
Sanchez Ming
Andre Blackman

Midfield
Michael Timlin
Jordan Higgs

Attack
Andrew Harris-Sealey

Could have put Taylor in either Def/Mid buckets really.

Found it.. but for any new nouveaux might be useful to remention?

I think the new nouveaux should be aware of it by now. Perhaps you mean the "novel new nouveux"?

Anyway, here are the instructions:

  • If you don't yet subscribe, then copy the following the link: [email protected]
  • Instructions on how to setup are here (click on the tab that says "add using email address").
  • You need to do this from a computer while logged into your Google account.
  • Once it is linked to your Google account, go into your calendar app, go to settings and you should see the option to view/add the fixtures to your phone or tablet.
  • We will update fixtures throughout the season, as they are changed due to Cup commitments or any other reason. The result is also added...

Feel like he's prob more in holding mid this year with Holland and Sterling at CB's

I considered last year's season ticket a donation to keep Hamlet going. A lot of my mates came down for Scotland v England and caught COVID - one of them has subsequently developed pneumonia and hepatitis. I'm a bit wary of large crowds, being asthmatic I don't want COVID.

So what I'm thinking of doing is taking in more away games. So who do we play who have a decent sized ground and no fans? Last time I've gone to Dorking or Welling the attendance was pretty poor, although Welling was midweek and it was fucking freezing. Any thoughts from the collective?

The science would suggest that your friends didn't get Covid from attending a football match outdoors. The journey down and hostelries visited etc would likely be a different story.

Can't see how you could get in trouble at CH if you came in through the turnstiles and stayed outside for the duration. That said, away days are obviously more enjoyable for all kinds of reasons anyway. There's not a ground in the division that would necessitate anything like the sort of close proximity to others as at CH, but if you're after low turnouts you should be eyeing the likes of Oxford, Hungerford and Concord. That would be the only reason anybody could ever recommend a trip to Concord though.

Sorry about your mate though. That's grim.

Cheers, not having a science debate (plenty of chat elsewhere for that) so that's useful.
Agreed, I think we've established that this is not the place for any kind of debate and I wasn't trying to start one.

Genuinely though, don't think you'd have a problem with any of the grounds in the division. Even Maidstone with their comparable attendances still has loads of space for keeping yourself to yourself if you choose to.

If you're at a loose end tomorrow you can't go wrong with Carshalton. The attendance is restricted anyway but one side of the ground is vast (and pretty amazing). Think you need to buy in advance online though.

I have actually got a ticket for Carshalton tomorrow. Looking forward to the first live game since I went to the VCD friendly last year! Also taking my 16 month old daughter to her first ever game.

Hamlet are a bit odd probably, in terms of having the highest attendances in the division but one of the tightest grounds. The setup at Welling, for example, is far bigger than ours and particularly for their fanbase. Anything over 2,000 at Champion Hill is pretty cosy!

Will see what sort of a pass I can get for some of the games...on the way back from a wedding in the SW during the Chippenham match so hopefully make that one.

Here's to tomorrow and seeing how the trialists and new and old guys get on!

With the exception of Maidstone and maybe Havant and Dartford (all of which are good grounds) every other ground we play at should have plenty of space in the corners if you don't need a seat and are not too particular about standing right behind the goal or on the halfway line. There are one or two funny ones like Hampton, where the turnstiles an clubhouse are in one corner and a lot of people seem to congregate just inside, but you can still find space in other areas.

Thanks PP, I don't like sitting at the football. Dartford is a cracking stadium, and I actually like standing on the halfway line.

Delighted to see Mills sign on again - a real goal threat and considering he doesn't take penalties he has a very good record with us.

Is there a game next Saturday?

Someone at Carshalton said we’re we’re playing Tottenham U23 at home but there’s nothing on the website nor in Pompeydunc’s calendar. Maybe I imagined the whole thing…
