zomg i have a show :D for my photographs of the trees that were/are due to be felled nearby, which has become a matter of increasing local dissent...

i was looking at taking more time to find funding, but an unexpected slot has turned up in exactly the right venue in march, so i think i have to go for it

I suspect they *were the good idea of someone with relatives in the town hall. Giant Christmas baubles with a seat for tourists to sit on whilst taking their selfie :D Some street guy got himself a Santa outfit for the season and sat there wearing shades collecting a €uro a time for a pic. Enterprising. Suspect he's a bit peeved today.

*They're gone today. Lisbon's municipal workers have wasted no time in getting rid of Christmas after Twelfth night. Very impressive. Only the castle remains lit this evening. I should have taken a photograph to compare, but I'm sure there are plenty on the web already.

    Where is everybody?

Bit boring this one. But, it is a really nice gig. 5 star, historical, luxury hotel. The reception and hallway already have my sketches on permanent display. I now have to do a further 20 sketches on the theme of world trade with Lisbon to decorate all the new, swanky rooms like this...

Look at all those pillows. Very posh place. Lisbon hotel Nº3 is all my art ;)

These guys aren't just giving me work, they are promoting me also. I shall learn much about Lisbon business from the owner of this place :)

Same scene as the OP. This time I invested in canvas on a speculative bid for better cash. It worked! This pup made me €180 in just 7 hours :) I will try the same tomorrow.

Somebody got a bargain. If I had sent it off to one of the galleries I supply, it would have fetched €600. Probably my best Lisbon sketch to date.

    Is that €180 after materials?

Canvas was €14 (210 Centimeters x 100 Centimeters). Two OHP pens - a Fiver. Net profit €159 (plus about €120 in drops ;)).

I needed a good day. Have to do lots of form busting and bank stuff tomorrow. May take the whole day, but if it doesn't, I shall buy another canvas and more pens. Very nice way to make cash.

New lino cut. I like the rocks but the clouds and sea could be (a lot) better. Bonus point if anyone can guess where this is.

Stanley Edwards Yesterday I was watching a TV programme about a hotel in Ramsgate. On the wall was a picture that looked like one of yours. Have you ever sold anything there?

I have sold sketches to people from Ramsgate. However, I think it unlikely that it was one of my sketches. What was the sketch of?

Praça do Rossio, Lisboa. Stitched together - it was a very large sketch.

It looked, as far as I can remember, like plaza mayor in Madrid.

Better still, you made international TV. Can't remember what the programme was, nor what it was about, but when we saw it we both said it looked like your style.

I kinda fucked this up by being cheap, and using old paint. Not the first time, paint isn't cheap..
