2015/2016 season: Dulwich Hamlet pre-season friendlies for July announced

New-veau's all shake heads going 'Bob who?' ! ;)
One way of fostering more unity at the club might be to talk a bit less about dinosaurs and nouveaus/new-veaus. As much as it is in jest (I think) the sheer regularity of it can make it look needlessly divisive in my opinion. I see it as being all Dulwich fans, whether it's people like myself who only discovered Champion Hill last season or people who've been going since football was in black and white like you.

Which is a fair point at first glance, but i don't think it's done nastily...and, after all, the nouveau brigade sell their own t-shirts.... http://forwardthehamlet.spreadshirt.co.uk/nouveaux-A29435359/customize/color/4

And if we're talking about 'being all Dulwich fans'...I presume you will also be asking to persist in other 'groupings' like the 'Comfast Chapter' as well then...

Fact is..we ARE all Dulwich Hamlet together, but all the better for all not going under one label...I'm certainly not part of any 'Curva whatever'...I'm just part of The Rabble behind the goal, or is that not allowed to be said either?

Not that it matters...I'm such an Old Skool Dinosaur I'm not going to change my ways now! ;)

Nouveau brigade? That - and all other designs - are Jack McInroy's.

Was halfway through writing a long reply to this before reality kicked in and I realised it's not at all worth debating.

Suffice to say that i'm not aware of such a thing as the nouveau brigade. There are however hundreds of new fans putting their money into the club with many offering their skills and services to support the club on a practical level. Also, i'm pretty sure the Comfast Chapter is something of a tongue-in-cheek affair and I think i've only heard one person mentioning 'Curva...' in any seriousness whatsoever.

Final thing though - sticking a winking smiley after something doesn't necessarily stop it coming across as a bit of a dig.

Maybe not...but a ' ;) ' does indicate that I'm not being entirely serious.

And for an expression like 'nouveau brigade' or something similar is just me lazily generalising, not using it as a description.

OK. Glory hunters then.

Does that mean we have to give up the song about Mishi being a dinosaur?:(:p

Well isn't a new-veau v Old School Dinosaur thread a lovely thing to see?

As a rejoinder to those doubting Mishi's election tot he Trust board? I've had the privilege of knowing him for 22 years and there is no one i would want int hat position more than him. Mishi is a damned legend and love this club more than anything. If you doubt his passion and dedication to DHFC then you are, quite simply, a fucking cunt.

Mind you, if you could just get off that self righteous horse for a moment, think about this. If you dont think he's the man for the position being voted for, then get off your arse and do something about it, run for election yourself otherwise sniping across the internet like this makes you seem a bit...sad.

You bet, I thrive on threads like this.

Last sentence a bit OTT but I recognize and agree with the sentiment.

Agreed.

Hmmm...I've got a broad back. Some people will like me, some won't. Water off a duck's back to me.

As for the word 'legend' it's not one I ever use, and besides, it doesn't mean much nowadays, with so many people described as 'legends' anyway.
I guess when I'm dead it won't stop people calling me a 'legend', but give it a game or two after my funeral & I'll soon be forgotten...so much for 'legend' eh? ;)

As for old fans getting on with newer ones..well the Champion Hill terraces is no different to all walks of life, whether it be work, neighbours in your street, or any other group where people from different backgrounds & across various generations mix. Some will like others, some not. You call some of our fans cunts....I'm sure some think I am one, or you...but nothing I can do about that.

There's certainly some out there, 'old' & 'new' fans who I wouldn't buy a drink for, but on a matchday if we're united as Pink & Blue that's good enough for me.

And I'll go back to my 'stock description' whenever outsiders from other clubs have a cheap pop at our fans.... In my 41 years of supporting The Hamlet I've never know such good support & it's never been so much fun supporting Dulwich.

Living the dream! :)

Whatever their issues with him might be, I'm sure absolutely no-one would question Mishi's passion for the club.
Actually I think there are one or two that might do...but I can live with that.
But I don't really care if people think I'm passionate or not...I just support my team...one of many, & will continue to support them until I die, or the Club dies...whichever comes first! ;)

Ah, you're referring to the case when someone with a blue badge parked in a spot right on the corner of the entrance of the ground where two weeks earlier we'd had a nasty accident involving a young couple and an elderly couple which was caused by someone (else) parking in that exact spot. I must admit I didn't realise at the time that blue badge holders could park on a double yellow line, so I stand corrected on that point.

Nonetheless, I maintain it is a dangerous place to park as it means anyone exiting the ground can't see up the road - hence the accident. Anyway, we didn't get them to move and there was no accident on this occasion.

It's a public road and if some people wish to endanger the lives of others who are we to interfere? Must remember to let people behave exactly as they wish in future.

Psych! I love Whyteleafe. You and @linoian are on my ideal dinner party guest list along with Taylor Swift and the wizards of waverley place.

That's just it, i think they are.

Or maybe i'm just getting way too sensitive in my old age and shouldn't react to character assassinations of old friends.
There was no character assassination going on at all. Nor was there any suggestion made anywhere on this thread that Mishi is anything other than utterly passionate about the club or that there should not be a place on the board for him. You don't need to bandy around 'fucking cunt' for people to realise that Mishi has the very best of intentions when it comes to DHFC.

Good for you if you considered yourself to be standing up for a mate but people are allowed to disagree about things you know. And any half-arsed disagreement in this case had fuck all to do with an election.
