2015/2016 season: Dulwich Hamlet pre-season friendlies for July announced

I remember, a few years ago, when we were made really welcome in Helsinki, by our hosts from Forza HJK, the HJK Helsinki fans, when we played them on one of our tours and...
Their 'unofficial HQ', a bar near the ground, did food, and the local chef specially did fish & chips on the menu when we visited, ad was a bit bemused that we weren't really interested in his 'English food'. A few of us bought some, just so he wouldn't get upset! ;)
I thik guest German beer at the bar would be a grand idea !

Was good to speak to some of their fans we know, up at the Queens Park supporters Sixes in Glasgow on Saturday...some of them will be coming to see Erhun's return to us...and they think he will do well for them, given a decent & injury-free run in the side.

when Wrexham used to play Brentford away a pub on the corner of the ground would always have a guest welsh ale !

Curious - how are these friendlies sorted out? Is it a case of Gavin getting on the phone to the other club manager? If so, why hasn't he called Pardew up yet? I would've thought that one was a banker having played Palace the last few seasons.

Generally it's down to Gavin to sort out. Or him to agree to...for example I had to approach him to ask him if the Altona game was ok...if he said 'no' to any match it's not the done thing to impose a game on his pre-season plans. As these games are for him preparing for the new season.

I don't know if he did approach Crystal Palace or not...but we are a 'very minor player' in football terms...and we simply might not fit into their schedule. It's not a guarantee to play any local professional club.

It's extremely fortunate when we play any professional side, never mind a Premiership one, and never mind on a 'regular' basis.

Premier League not Premiership!!!! ;-)

I'm drumming up local Whyteleafians to get down there and support the Hamlet. And there's 50 Irish coming over for a big gay wedding on the Friday in our local - they'll be in need of something to do with their hangovers the next day. With a bit of luck it should get a bit noisy.

Why is always a good question. Why on earth would the most vocal critic of the supporters trust from the football committee think he was helping by joining?

Well, firstly, I might answer your question if you were to answer mine.

At least i give explanations when asked....I was simply asking why you are saying that Whyteleafe are all cunts...

But, I will 'humour' you on here, by responding to your point...

Firstly I am NOT the most vocal critic of the Supporters Trust from the Football Committee by a long chalk. I may be, perhaps, the most honest on there who openly criticises them..by what is the problem with that? Surely it is better to be 'constructively critical' like I believe I have been in the past, whilst I have also balanced that by praising the things the Supporters Trust have done in the past too, a bit of balance.

Secondly, as to 'why am helping by joining'? Actually I am already a member of the Supporters Trust, you have to have joined to stand for election to the Trust board, which is what I am doing...I'm certainly not 'joining' the Trust Board...I have never said I am. That is for the membership to decide. But I would be honoured to serve on it, as elected, as I am honoured to serve on the Football Club Committee.

And, lastly, as to why I would want to join the Supporters Trust Board..well I don't feel I need to have to go over 'old ground', as this is in my Trust election address, and also in more detail responding to a number of other posts raised on the matter throughout this thread. You can find all the answers in them. If there is something more specific & relevant you want to directly ask...then please do, and I will answer the next time I am back on the internet, but that won't be until sometime tomorrow.

I do so dislike false modesty. So here is an insight into the future, unsurprisingly you will be elected.

Another prediction is that you will disrupt board meetings just as you have disrupted every agm or open trust meeting I have attended.

Not that it will affect me as I am not renewing my membership to the trust. I think it is a disgrace that there will be a board member of the trust that has assaulted at least one trust member. It is a shame that there are not rules against it and also a code of conduct for board members.

Maybe something for you to investigate while you are looking into membership cards.

With regard to your comments...'false modesty'...well that is your description. I call it an 'opinion'. For those who I know closely, and who I have spoken to over the summer, they would be telling you that I am certainly NOT taking it for granted that I would be elected to the Trust Board, and think it will be tough, but something for me to be personally proud of to do so. Whether I am 'unsurprisingly' elected or not, I will just be happy if I am.

With regard to me 'disrupting' Trust Board meetings, if elected, well if I ever tried that then I am sure I would be given a 'slap on the wrist' & if I really stepped out of line in any way in a Trust Board meeting it would be dealt with under the Trust rules and regulations.
But it is not my aim to disrupt meetings, but to put over my viewpoint.

I think it is a shame you are choosing not to renew your membership of the Trust, I would hope you would reconsider, it is the Trust you are joining, and to resign because you clearly do not like myself as an individual would be a shame.

With regard to the past assault...yes, I may have done things in the past that I regret, in the heat of the moment, there was a serious complaint against me sent to the Football Club Committee last season. I offered to resign from the Football Club Committee & they did not accept, and was severely censured about my actions, & put on a conduct warning from the Club.

This is the only complaint that was ever received by the Football Club about me, and as an individual Trust member, the Trust have never had any complaints received against me, nor have they ever reprimanded me for my 'behaviour' at any of their meetings.

You may recall, with regard to 'alleged assaults' the very threatening behaviour I had to endure from a fellow Hamlet fan, indeed a very good friend & flatmate of yours I believe, on the pitch after the Maidstone United home match, when I had to show remarkable self-restraint & discipline to keep myself in check, which shows that I am learning from any previous incident that may have happened.

With regard to your final comment, I will not need to investigate any 'code of conduct' as those regulations are already in place, if you had checked, and if I were to step out of line in any way I would expect any complaints to be dealt thoroughly by the Trust.

Also, I previously was sad that you were thinking of standing down from the football committee in the future, I am glad that your enthusiasm is renewed to involve yourself further in the club.

Well, that's a bizarre sudden turnaround if you do vote for me, but if you do, and to anyone else who does/is planning to do so, I thank you, whether I am elected or not.

Hypothetically though, if you had the choice of either voting for me or staying in the Trust, I'd rather you didn't vote for me, even though I'll clearly be pleased if you do, and stay as a member of the Trust...as the bigger the Trust the stronger & more representative of our fanbase it will be...hence me specifally mentioning I would push a 'recruitment drive' around the ground if elected to the Trust Board.

Got to respect someone that is able to stand-up to scrutiny. Its a shame that the other candidates have not had many questions directed at them. I will vote for all the candidates I know personally - plus the accountant one (Isaac?). I hope he gets co-opted if he misses out in the vote - but I don't know how it works.

Well I could think of plenty..but this isn't a 'hustings' & I wouldn't want to come across as 'disruptive' ! ;)

seems your all taking this ultra serious !

Choosing one's representatives is always serious - I am unsure if there are any welsh members of the board

Isaac set the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Trust long jump record after the Hornchurch match last season.
