Yeah, I'm not quite sure who on earth is going to pay it tbh, it's quite staggeringly overpriced

Yeah, I'm surprised how cheap Flickr is, really. Especially seeing as there is no advertising. Or conversely, how expensive other options are.
At my work we had some people who came in trying to sell us some system where they would host drawing files and stuff on a server so they could be shared with other people. They were quoting something like a couple of thousand quid per year for a few GB. Admittedly they would offer a few extra services too, but the price seems crazy compared to unlimited space on Flickr.

I've just started using the fireuploader which is hell of a lot quicker for moving tons of big files than using the Flickr uploader. It's a Firefox plug in and lets you drag and drop piles of photo folders with a FTP interface directly into your Flickr account (and others too).

FWIW, I use Jeffrey Friedl’s “Export to Flickr” Lightroom Plugin to upload directly from Adobe Lightroom.
Very useful if you need that kind of thing. It handles resizing, putting them into sets, sharpening, replacing photos that you've already uploaded and all sorts of other stuff.
