Trowbridge festie looks

Here's one happenng in Ljubljana, Slovenia in May.

It's called DRUGA GODBA and specialises in world music, with a few curveballs thrown in (this year it's Gang of Four ). It happens over a handful of nights from 13 to 28 May, so no camping or mud involved. The venues are great -- primarily Križanke, which is an old monastery in the centre of town, and the (legendary but acutely threatened) Metelkova cultural centre. I've been going for a few years now and have seen some magical stuff (as well as some 'meh'), but it's always a laugh.

Definitely worth it if any of the acts grab you, and we can meet for a beer

Cropredy Folk Festival

No-one has mentioned the Cropredy Folk Festival in Oxfordshire. It's the longest continually running music festival in Europe! Real ale, men with beards, absolutely no fights, lovely atmosphere. And this year, the Levellers!

Fairport Convention host it and it's their 40th year in music.
