20 - 30p added to everything ... AGAIN!

That really is steep unless you're using industrial amounts of water. Just a thought, are you classed as a non domestic customer cause of the small holding? That might be why it's dearer??
It's not dearer - that's what the average cost of water is for a family - not just us.

Like most of the hidden costs of tourism they just get added to the bills of the people who live there full time.
*sits and waits for the tourists to turn up and argue that we all benefit*

:D

Yorkshire area includes a hefty coastline. My bills aren't as high. Are you sure that's not just spinning a line to con customers?

£270 a year would be bliss

My DD is for £66 a month and we owe them £500 in back payments. That's just for water - no sewerage

South West Water have some of the highest charges in the UK. They say it's because of the clean sweep programme to keep the beaches clean.

My god, that's incredibly high.

Are you paying some of the backdated in those DDs? My god, no wonder you are finding things tricky.

Our water is £26 DD a month.

No - the backdated stuff is separate. They want £85 a month but I'm querying the bill in the first place. Bastards can take me to court if they want.

My mate just lives in a bog standard terrace and her water bill is £60 a month. None of us are the types to be sloshing it round with gay abandon either

It used to take me two hours sometimes on Leeds buses to get across only a few miles. I shudder to think how a commute on the tube/train can take that long.. where are people coming in from?

Now I'm job hunting I'm quite adamant about only wanting one bus or train journey plus a bit of a walk.

Buses in Leeds are frankly rubbish. People getting the tube don't know what they are moaning about!

It takes me 45 minutes to get to work and I'm only going about 3 miles.

Yeah I may buy myself one of them when the weather starts getting better. Might help sort out my ever expanding waistline too. :o

My post may have been biased by my childhood experience of Bridlington, tbh.

I used to go there. ;) We were meant to go last summer but my mum and dad argued about directions and got us lost. We saw a lot of other smaller east coast beaches which were all pleasingly clean.

This was where we used to go on a lot of days out when I was a nipper: -

Not an awful lot there besides the beach (to get to the carpark, you had to drive through a farmyard :D), but a nice little beach. No way you could get there by public transport though.
