If I was a betting man, and I couldn't possibly comment whether I am or not, I'd buy* Conservative seats (just like they do, arf etc)

I'd also buy SNP seats.

We'll see eh.

Now, if you remember killer b the Tories got 331 seats and the SNP 56.

The 49% SNP poll was not, quite, predicting a whitewash, which is where we, or perhaps, if I'm being generous, the polls and the bookies differ. The above quote, however, (from a website I previously inhabited), is proof of where, and how I made my money. Maybe not so 'funny' huh?

Anyway, you were saying?

Actually killer b I'm going to apologise for a slightly stroppy pissed post. I was annoyed you seemed to be questioning my veracity with respect to my bet ("funny"). I won £480 but I did misremember it slightly as the vast majority, £400, was won on the Tories. The SNP result only added another £80. The bookies were, largely, following the polls, although even the SNP polling was not really predicting them to get 56 seats.

Regardless, apologies for any perceived strop.

Ha, I didn't see the edit. :D

I wasn't questioning the veracity of your bet though - but if you won money betting on an overwhelming win for the SNP, then it's because the bookies (or the betting market at least) got it wrong - the polls were predicting a big win for them for months before the election.

So just more evidence that Sas is a dullard pub bore.

Or: a CU and wholesale acceptance of SM rules in their entirety until an imaginary day when an impossible deal is finalised. Which is the point we seem to have reached with this agreement. Shame to have lost all our influence in shaping the rules, of course, but who knows, maybe some of this will creep back somehow.
basically, yes. This is a complete, unholy fuck up, thanks to the Tories.
Cheers, blue team

If there are no elections the ruling class still win, like they always have. An election can at least still shit the ruling class up.

The problem is once the election's over and everyone relaxes thinking the point of the exercise has been reached. Rather than going on to arrest loads of capitalists as soon as the result is called, executing them under flyovers during the morning rush hour and appropriating their property before lunch.
