1911 UK Census on-line

I've just looked up who was resident in our house at the time, and there was a family of six and a boarder. A little bit of a googling later and I've found that the eldest son died five years later in WWI. :(

By lunchtime, the 1911census.co.uk website had seen 7.2m page views, with just under 700,000 separate searches made for people or house occupants, a spokeswoman for the National Archives said.

Wonder how long 'til they make their money back and stop charging so much to view a record?

My grandad played for Sheffield Wednesday around that time, was football a profession then, or just part time?

bit of both. Wednesday (then nicknamed the Blades!) had turned pro in 1887ish, tho many players would have still had other jobs as well. Wednesday were doing quite well then, came 6th in 1910-11, and had the leading scorer the following season.
