100 british dead

Seems like British casualties have slowed to a trickle though - the news channels have been sitting on their "100th British soldier dead" packages for months and months.

We've been lucky for a while now - no deaths for about a month.

100 better men than Blair dead, what a fucking waste.

Rest in peace lads.

More aposite would be "100 men, all of whom were 100 times better than the Westminster filth who sent them to die".

I hope they haunt the likes of Blair and Hoon into an early grave.

I doubt it VP. Sociopaths have no conscience

They'd have to give a shit about them before it bothered them.

Given that Reid has only just made a visit to Headley Court and BLiar and Hoon have never been there or to Selly Oak, it doesn't look like they do!

That's the second squaddie death in two days. The poor families and friends!
Let's see if we can't persuade our Septic friends to banjo No 10 (and No 11 while they're at it). They've got by far the most experience with blue-on-blues and one JDAM should do the trick.

Unfortunately true.

TBH I'm just glad that most of the blokes I served with are out by now. It was bad enough sitting around waiting for the "go" to start packing for the Falklands (luckily it never happened), at least everyone had an idea it would be a finite campaign, but this clusterfuck? We could still be sending troops over there come 2010 or later. :( :(

And long after the Yanks have fucked off. Like the old saying 'The Americans will fight to the last European' :(

How many people have died of starvation and hunger related illnesses across te world in this time?
Dry your crocodile tears, you don't really give a shit.

tbaldwin - Many of those deaths are far harder to prevent. These weren't. Just don't invade.

This comment doesn't make much sense:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,,1698873,00.html

The spokesman said British forces in Iraq - which currently amount to around 8,000 troops - would stay in the country for "as long as necessary".

"No life is worth this kind of sacrifice but, in terms of why we are in Iraq, we have now had three democratic elections in a country that was brutalised for decades," he told reporters.
Anyone make any sense of this at all? Is the sacrifice worth it, or not in his view?

Wait 'til our guys (5,000+) go to Afghanistan later this month/year.
One ex army guy on the politics show ( Tim Collins I think) says the area where we are to go is Taliban and drug lord central!
It could be a bloodbath ffs as it always has when the Brits have ventured into this area throughout history ( Khyber/Crimea, etc). Look at how many Russians died here in the 80s!

Hope you rest easy in your bed tonight Blair the butcher!!!

Totally agree with you except for one thing, Jigga.

The Crimea is in Russia, mate. :)

Yes, I know VP. I was just making the issue of the Central Asia, Eastern Europe area. It has held nothing but sorrow for all those who venture in this part of the world. I keep my fingers crossed for the poor bastards who have to serve out there while Blairs son lives it up in Washington on an internship! Makes ya wanna puke eh!!

Mother of Lance Corporal Allan Douglas, 22, from Aberdeen who died in Iraq yesterday had this to say:

"I did not want him to go there at all - it wasn't his war. We were not very happy that he had to go there.

"I think it's a damn disgrace, they should not be out there at all.

"I do not think Tony Blair should have put any young kids out there - there's been so many of them killed."

It does that. :(

Playing "the Great Game" has always cost the poor bloody infantry dear, and itll carry on doing so whoever's infantry are in the firing line.

Pity worm turds like Euan Blair will never have to experience life at the front, but he's his father's son. Tony "Emily" Blair wouldn't serve in his school's cadet force, but he's quite happy to let others die to give him his "place in history".

What an infantile arguement against the War in Iraq. You have all the understanding shown by Boy George in his record War is Stupid.
Perhaps Tony Blair should have invaded Iraq with the rest of the cabinet and let the Army run the country?

Anyone care to tell me what gems tbaldwin is spouting?

I've no doubt it's something derogatory, mind.

VP puts me on ignore then wants to know what i'm saying. Strange sad bloke!

Start a separate thread about the other things - this thread is about Iraq.

He's already posted similar in the other "100 dead" thread in UK P & P.

He doesn't give a fuck as long as he can piss and moan about liberals and tell everyone what a great socialist he is.

TBH I don't think he has much of a grasp about just how important the issue of troops dying in Iraq, and of the occupation of Iraq itself, is to how the UK gets presented to those countries where hunger and disease are rife.
