"It's a small business that I've built up over the last six years and I've invested a lot of time in it," she says. "I think people don't necessarily see how much effort goes on behind the scenes - you have to be able to take the photos, edit the videos, send invoices, fix your website, answer emails."
What would you do if you started chatting to someone and they said, with a straight face and quite a smug feel in general, that they were a social media influencer?
"A social influencer, really? I've heard of them but I've never actually met one. I thought they only existed in the internet. What sort of qualifications do you need for that? Did you have to go to university?"

A 'follower' doesn't even mean much in the grand scheme of things. Loads of them will probably be bot/fake accounts. It's a bit like me saying to a hotel owner, "Give me a free room. I run a website with 15m posts!"
