What type of home could this person get?

It's a serious question, so Buckingham Palace is out as an option.

It's your new governor of the Bank of England.

I'm just curious what type of place they could rent/buy.

He is getting paid £624,000 a year - I doubt he will be applying for a housing benefit.

Why should that make a difference? It's surely verging on fraudulent claiming for something that you don't actually need. All those empty bedrooms he'll be claiming for.

The institution is giving him the housing allowance and uber-salary to get him to take the job.

Well it would show some fiscal fucking responsibility if he only claimed for as many bedrooms as he uses then.

If someone offered you that income and housing allowance, would you pass it up?

    I wouldn't!!!!

Not that anyone would ever offer that to me, but I can dream.

Concerning the links above - it's a bit depressing, but ultimately massively reassuring, that most absurdly wealthy people also have dreadful taste.

He's been given a housing allowance by the state - only difference with HB is the amount.

A one bed flat near his place of work is easily going to cost £1,300.00 a week. perhaps he could qualify for social housing what with being a 'key' worker. :D
