He may well score a lot of goals for chelsea but he will be gone by the end of next season to a team that appreciate him more or some other bollocks.

Always admired him as a player, though £15 million? Chelsea don't seem to care what money they throw around. (Not that they need to mind).

87.14 mill... ten per cent to the player, then manager percentage. and any incentive .. plus weekly stash..

that's a lot of dosh.

How many clubs and how much per club?

The team need to play to his strengths which are not Drogbas. He's a real front man, who is near impossible to get off the ball, hold it up and then go past players with pace, all by himself. Which is why he's so valued.

Anelka can hit the target on through ball or pass players with his pace, but you cant use him one up or his lower lip starts to wobble.

I think that's an unfair caricature of Anelka really. Drogba's an absolutely exceptional player for sure, a rare beast of a pacy target man who can carry an attack largely on his own. But the idea of him as a true 'front man' whilst Anelka's some kind of lightweight bloke who really needs a team built to his strengths around him is a little harsh.

After all, Anelka's been playing at Bolton, a team that hasn't been massively stable (tactically or otherwise) nor really changed its direct formula that massively to accommodate Anelka. And his strike rate has been fine enough there, far more capable of bringing teammates into the game than you're giving him credit for.

He could have acheived so much more .I think he will do okay at chelsea as he doesn't become a fixture on the bench

Part of the Chelsea problem, but good players then loan them out purely so they don't have to play against them or other brit teams use them.

He didnt fail at Arsenal. Won us the double.

Anelka's a class act..not worth 15mill though (and he wasnt worth 23mil when Wenger sold him)

No he's quality, but he's not going to do well if you constantly pass the ball to him with his back to goal which is what Drogba can do. Defenders will have him if you try that.

He's much better used if you feed him the ball and run off him, as you say he can often bring players in with his passing.

This is currently not how Chelsea play with Drogba upfront, but it will show how good their manager can be if they change to his strengths.

You play him up on his own and he really can go awol, perhaps he's got a bit older now, so its not such a problem.

Personally i thought he was fucking ace. Strong skilful, intelligent and a good goalscorer...Cant please everybody i suppose but dont think the gooners lost any money on him did they?

With only Pizarro up front for Chelsea, Anelka would be a good signing at double the cost

Correct. It's good that we've got some younger, less well known strikers in the squad (and Solomon Kalou is coming along nicely atm) but with Drogba gone the pressure's really on and we need a man who knows how to score goals.
