can I fly to Cuba from Cancun?

Anyone know how much it would cost, if its worth it. I'm only gonna be in Mexico for 2 weeks, but my partner wants to go for a couple of days. I realise i will need a visa, so wanna get this sorted before I go in Nov.
    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I believe Canada and Cancun are two principle ways that Americans get to Cuba.

    Yup

I find it cheaper to book a package incl hotels in havana when you get to the seething piss artist mancunian accented shellsuited hell of cancun - just to make sure that you will get something to eat at breakfast anyway - makes a change form the standard coach trip to Chicken PIzza as the smarmy multilinguial Mex toothy salesmen call it

You wont need a visa for Cuba if yer EU or US and they wont stamp your passport, as you dont want to fall foul of the Helms Burton ( I think ) Bill if yer an ameriKan - but I think Euros are the currency of choice in Cuba now

Jamiaca is another back door to Cuba for ameriKans and theres daily flights too.

Mex. id fantastic, but I think on a bog standard 2 week/ 10 day holiday, you wont have the time to get much out of the shithole of cancun very easily given the distances involved( s'pse you could fly )

I have said this befoere on this thread, but the wonders of rainforest And reef await on belize - in less than 12 hours form Cancun ( and a change of bus ) you can be in Belize city ..............

You will need a cuban tourist card afaik if you are travelling to Cuba. You definitely do flying from the UK, I don't think this would be any different from Mexico. If you look at the link, it's in the price list for the flights.

I have just come back from 2 weeks in mexico and had a wonderful time, there is loads to see and do but there again I wasn't in cancun, flew in and went south to tulum but regardless of where you stay, hire a car and get out and about, we drove all over the place, cheap to hire and car, drivng is odd but easy once you know the system, if you do hire a car then the two places I recommend is Coba (mayan site in the jungle) and xel-ha which is a marine park type of thing where you swim with the fish

Thanks people. Basically it is quite cheap for me to fly to Cancun which is why I'm gonna fly there, and my partner wants to go to Cuba before the old man snuffs it - which could be quite soon, which is why we want to go even if it's only for a couple of days. I don't get much time off work, so don't have the luxury of leisurly (sp?) travelling the world like a lot of people. Can anyone suggest 5 things not to miss in Havana?

I was in Havana in 2001 so it may have changed a bit but the must sees are:

the revolutionary museum via the main padestrian walkway (like a ramblas)

walk on the sea wall (past the american interest building aka american embassy)

go to the flee market which is by the amusment park, down by the sea

go to the barber shop for a shave, go to the Plaza hotel, stand in the entrance and the barbers shop is up the street to the left, great old guy in there, and if you go into the plaza hotel you will find a man rolling fresh cigars

have a mojito in one of the bars but don't go to the one that Hemingway drank in as it's very expensive and posh

don't go on the local buses that they call camels, you will die of heat in them

    enjoy

You can fly to Habana with Click Mexicana, a Mexican budget airline. You ought to be able to get a tourist card for Cuba at the airport. We got one in Panama as we queued up to board the plane.
