Good indian food delivery in/to Brixton?
Hello there,
Moved to Brixton about 3 months ago (living just above the HSBC) and I'm absolutly loving it. Being massively lazy and also a fan of easy greasy munch, one of my favourite things is to order takeaway food to be delivered to my home. I've tried a couple of Indians, but really haven't found anything special, so I've decided to crawl out of my lurking in order to ask you guys where I might find a really good indian delivery. I'd also be interested in any recommendations you have for pizza and chinese too. Getting a bit bored with speedy noodles, as fairly nice and cheap as it is. |

Curry Paradise is OK, Khan's is OK, and for pizza, give Firezza a try. Also, El Panzon (Mexican) in the Dogstar delivers.

Indian Take Away
We live just nearby and have tried a few but have always gone back to Chillie Spice, 5 Ascot Parade, Clapham Park Road - its the bit just beyond the traffic lights at the far end of Acre Lane. Delivery times are reasonable for a Friday night - our normal Indian evening. The phone number is 0209 7627 2099

I get really good curry delivered from Safa in Camberwell (by the Green) and The Old Calcutta on Brixton Road towards Oval.
Will try Celestial, didn't know I had a decent local in Loughborough. |

You can order and pay on-line from a whole variety of places here:
http://www.just-eat.co.uk/Pages/Rest...ip=sw2&lang=en I usually use 'Zest of India' on Coldharbour lane for Indian - always friendly, polite and tasty (if not the fastest delivery in the world). |

On the other hand Firezza and Fujiyama both refuse. |

Really like Khan's for their dahl and paneer dishes, but they're a bit pricier and not all that distinct for the rest.
When Gousia's on form it's the best in the area imo - rarely had a bad selection from them, but sometimes it's more divine than other days. Some unusual dishes, fantastic naans and breads and great value. The Mirch Massaleh in Norwood mentioned is a bit of an imposter and nothing to do with the Mirch Masala chain with branches in Norbury, Tooting, Aldgate and Wembley Way. Those places are fantastic - if only they could deliver their tandoor meats I'd be happy indeed. |

We're just waiting on a delivery from The Chutney - Chrisfilter raves about them. The prices are good and the delivery is fast. Seem to remember it tasting good last time we tried them - will report with a review of this evening's meal

The Chutney is not bad IMO. Used to eat there a lot when I lived round the corner.
Not nearly as good as Gousia though. |

And I'm pretty sure they've delivered to us on the Tulse Hill Estate (as embarrassing as that is to admit given its proximity!) - Firezza delivered to us once too. In fact, we've never been refused delivery by anyone apart from Royal Mail who don't refuse, but frequently just don't bother to deliver at all.

My vote is for Bombay Inn, on Brixton Hill near The Telegraph. 8671 7372. Yummy

The chutney meal was nice. We liked it. The portions were large. The tandoori jalfrezi is excellent - lamb, chicken and a kebab, with a good suace including peppers, potoato, chillies and cauliflower - £6.
