View Full Version : Footy in Brixton
Brixton Hatter

If anyone in the Brixton area is interested in playing footy regularly, a few of us are going to start this Sunday in Brockwell Park at 3pm (weather permitting). Just a kickabout for an hour or two then a few refreshing pints in a nearby pub. All standards welcome, it's not serious at all, just a chance to play the beautiful game in our local park.
If you register your interest here, or PM me, I'll PM everyone the details on Friuday afternoon before I leave work. :)
{There's another kind of related thread in the football forum here (http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=65834) where I was trying to drum up interest in a U75 footy team. Playing in the park for a laugh seems more achievable at the moment!}
Bar this sunday, I shall most certainly be up for this :)

Nice one Bond. We'll be doing it again next Sunday at 3pm.
A bit short notice, but if anyone wants to play 5 a side tonight at 6.30pm at Ferndale Road in Brixton, please give me a call 07941 019 319. We need 2 extra people. Cheers :)

Bond - and anyone else interested - we'll be having a bit of a kickabout in Brockwell Park again on Sunday at about 3pm.
If you fancy it, please feel free to come down - my number is above if you want to check where we are/check if we're still playing if its raining etc.
Cheers :)
Easter Sunday should be alright for me since I should round and about in the area anyway...:)
I expect my Saturday to somehow follow a similar path to Bond's (therefore I will manage to kick him awake so he's there yeah :D)

If i'm all sorted I might pop up before we head down the Albert. The only problem is you say 'all standards welcome', what happens if you have no standards :p

You couldn’t let it go could you! All that bitter downtrodden aggression, bless!
Still, nice of you to cater for us, it’s not something Luton’s usually famous for, the catering of others, apart from maybe keeping other teams cup hopes alive. ;)

No need to feel intimidated. :p :D

Oh here we go, digging in the past again! See that’s your problem never looking forward.
Now, I could of course list a number of other dates and then you would do the same and so on, but what help does that really give you now, not to mention the fact that I know fuck all about football really, other than enjoying watching it and therefore would be thrashed in any Football statistic and history related debate. You see the difference is I know my limitations and don’t attempt to be unrealistic in my goals (pardon the pun) unlike others, Mr Hatter. :p ;) :D
(runs of to read a Watford football history book)
not to mention the fact that I know fuck all about football reallythat was revealed the minute you said you were a watford fan :p :D :p sorry couldn't resist!! :D
bee-aitch, this could be a pre-emptive training session for june, eh? i'll bring me sheepskin and notepad :D

that was revealed the minute you said you were a watford fan :p sorry couldn't resist!! :D
And you can shut ya face :p :D
(runs and ducks)
And people wonder why more people don't turn up to these football friendlys (in the loosest sense of the word), mention I might pop along and suddenly there’s a riot. Such tension, you people need to learn how to express yourselves. :p

Don't take it the wrong way; it's just a bit of fun. :)
<wanders off singing:
He's only a poor little Hornet,
His face is all tattered and torn,
He made me feel sick,
So I hit him with a brick... > ;)
I keen this Sunday if it's on. However, I am very unfit.
I keen too ;)
Anyway, I'll be about I think (hungover or something since it seems ever more likely I'll be partying on Saturday night...)

I think you'll find I was running around like a yappy little terrier on speed. :p
I'll see if I can talk Ringo into coming too.

I know mate :)
Good song, filled with all the usual Luton values :p
So are you all coming along to the Albert after for some welcome me to SW2 drinks? You can hit me with a brick then if ya like (on second thoughts, maybe not). I might see ya at footie, if not I'll hopefully see you at the pub.

Sadly, mate, I can do neither. I'm going back to Luton to see my Mum and Dad, for Easter. It does mean I can see the mighty Hatters on Monday, though! Have a good game, and a good drink, though! (I couldn't bring myslef to wish the Wa***rd luck, though, I'm afraid!)

I understand mate. Have a good Easter :)

Hardly very likely considering I might not even be back at Brixton at that point. :p
Will try and do my best to make it along if I have the energy left as I'll more than likely be coming straight from a party.
If I'm at the same party Bond, you'll almost certainly be going.
