*edited* let me say before any more people potentialy think im stupid.......
i would normaly look upon any post or link (or aything else for that matter) which contained the words console, free, or givaway in any kind of close proximity to each other with the upmost suspicion and possibly humour too. BUT, i am curious about this. i dont know why but there you go.

ok these are i suppose in effect pyramid selling schemes BUT nobody seems loose out SO, i want to give it a go.

the web site im looking at (if you google it) is nextgen consoles givaway.

it says you need to get 9 people for an xbox 360. i have that many in mind whom im fairly confident may do it. iv tried to do some dirt digging on such sites/schemes but all i can find is people vouching that it really works.

what do people think? is there any sites in particular that are easy to deal with/good reputation etc? its my understanding that each person you get to do it has to sign up for the schemes web site and then for a third party sites offer i.e "love film", which is prob easiest one to get people to sign up for. i think as long as they sign up for the free dvd rental offer thats it; you get 1 less person off the target of 9. weather they have to adhear to love films terms or weather they can just cancel soon after they sign up i dont know.

iv tried searching for previous topics on urban surrounding this and found nothing. so. go on................

(a) If you look at the small print they don't actually have to send you anything ever. I've certainly never heard from a real person, as opposed to somebody who is trying to get signups on their name, say they've received anything. Probably a few people have - that's how pyramid schemes work, the people at the top of the pyramid _do_ get rewards.

(b) By all means go for it, but don't under any circumstances post a referral link here :p

of course not. iv got enough f&f in mind. might not bother though if what you say is the case. i did read that in the small print but i recon they would put that either way just to cover themselves as there is a milllion and one reasons why they might have a genuine reason not to send it. i am fairly sceptical actualy. usualy...... of this sort of thing......

I invested in a PayPal pyramid scheme about 12 months back. I doubled my money.

Profit: £3.00. :( but, on the other hand, http://www.urban75.net/ubb/icons/icon14.gif. Or vice versa..

actualy im not sure this is a pyramid scheme for this reason: in a pyramid scheme you need the people you recruit to recruit people. as far as i can see, this site is claiming that the only thing necessary is the people you recruit. they only have to sign up for one offer for you to have done your part of the deal etc. your affliation with that person ends there from your point of view. there is of course the insentive for them to try to get people to sign up for themselves and this is how they can get alot of people signed up to the taget businesses very quickly. if only a small percentage of the people forget to cancel the subcription then they will soon make shit loads of cash. if its a good service then alot of people will carry on with it.

iv always been curious about online dvd rental, there are adverts in the gents in out local :D

i dunno. i need to here from people who can confirm they did it and got sent a console, or otherwise didnt get anyhting. im staying open minded for know.

These used to be known as 'incentivised clicking' sites, and are basically a datamining scam, or promise something for free...until you find the condition is buying stuff from a selection of often dubious advertisers, book of the month clubs and suchlike.

Altho lovefilm (and everyone who uses lovefilm under a rebrand) are OK.

As someone who used to work in online advertising, these sites are about as far down the scale as you can get in terms of offering nothing in return for you giving your dick size to some spammer in Florida. Avoid.

Once upon a time i had a website with Maaaasive traffic.

I signed up with freepay and got my free ipod video.

But you do have to build a large pyramid for it to pay off and it took me about 7 months I think. That was with massive traffic remember.

So i can testify that freepay did in fact pay up. It didn't cost me a penny, but i did have to pretend to want a credit card and then cancel it later on.

Its kind of worth a stab but unless you have access to a large network of people I'd say forget it. You'll never manage to fullfil the terms.
