You might have read about this guy in the news in the last couple of days, one of the Britart mob. Turns out he was a neighbour of mine for 2 years.
I used to live in a flat above his and bumped into him all the time, and me and a mate had a studio right opposite his front door.

I knew him well enough to say hello and that, but I never knew he was such a big deal in the art world.

Lovely bloke, unassuming and not what you would expect considering he was mates with all that Brit Art lot... none of the riotous parties or moody acts.

Had a few spliffs with him once and some odd bloke on crutches who kept making weird comments and trying to tap me for some free weed.
I told him to buy his own - a mate told me later it was Damien Hirst... :o

Lots of mates in shock over this, all a bit horrible really.

41, way too young. :( RIP Angus.
