Got a letter today from Thames water explaining that the new flood relief tunnel sewer is going right under my property. Is anyone else here affected?

I'll take that as a no then!:)
No but part of my job is to deal with the paperwork for such schemes (not in London, though). If you've got any questions, I will be able to answer them or ask someone who knows :)
Yes, I'd heard something about this. Some enormo-sewer being built underground.

Can't work out from the streets named below whether the works are along the historic line of the Effra, the separate "Effra Sewer" - which IIRC is actually a storm drain, not a foul sewer, or a mix of the two.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS AS PART OF THE THAMES WATER FLOOD ALLEVIATION PROJECT
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, to enable Thames Water to carry out works to water mains, the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, propose to make an order the effect of which would be at certain times to temporarily:-
(a) ban vehicles from entering;
(i) Barrington Road at its junction with Coldharbour Lane;
(ii) Brixton Station Road, between Gresham Road and Barrington Road;
(iii) Eastlake Road, between Flaxman Road and the party wall of Nos. 45 and 47 Eastlake Road;
(iv) Fawnbrake Avenue,
(a) between the north-eastern kerb-line of Brantwood Road and the common
boundary of Nos. 48 and 50 Fawnbrake Avenue;
(b) between the common boundary of Nos. 78 and 80 Fawnbrake Road and
the south-western kerb-line of Poplar Walk,
(c) between the south-western kerb-line of Poplar Walk and the party wall of
Nos. 118 and 120 Fawnbrake Avenue;
(v) Flaxman Road,
(a) between a point 6 metres north of the northern kerb-line of Pomfret Road
and the north-western kerb-line of Coldharbour Lane;
(b) between the north-eastern kerb-line of Luxor Street and the party wall of
Nos. 67 and 69 Flaxman Road;
(c) between the northern kerb-line of Gordon Grove and the party wall of
Nos. 75 and 77 Flaxman Road;
(d) between the north-eastern kerb-line of Lilford Road and the south-
western kerb-line of the vehicular entrance to Julio Close;
(vi) Gordon Grove;
(vii) Gubyon Avenue;
(viii) Kestrel Avenue,
(a) between the south-eastern kerb-lines of Rollscourt Avenue and
Woodquest Avenue and a point 40 metres south-east of those kerb-lines;
(b) between the north-western kerb-line of Herne Hill and a point 40 metres
north-west of that kerb-line;
(ix) Lilford Road, between a point 10 metres north-west of the north-western
kerb-line of Flaxman Road and a point 13 metres south-east of the south-
eastern kerb-line of Flaxman Road;
(x) Luxor Street;
(xi) Pomfret Road;
(Note: It is not anticipated that these roads would all be closed at the same time).

8. The order would come into force on 1st September 2007 and would continue for a maximum duration of 10 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.
