Bard of Brixton

On Sunday the second of December at 8pm we will be having the annual Bard of Brixton competition in the Albert, Coldharbour Lane, Brixton. It's free to enter, bring at least three poems (composed by yourself) with you. It would be good to see some new faces!

There was a long-haired hippy called Scrote
Who ran a website where everyone wrote
Lots of shite and rants
Which mad him shit his pants
In rage, then he went to the Albert where he poured lots of beer down his throat.

Who planted trees and baked a grand pie
Lots of fags and rum
Which went to straight to her big bum
In a state to get fit, she she covered her garden with horseshit

He tried one out
But got sucked down the spout
Fuck knows how that happened, but it did.

You wouldn't get through to the second round with that sad effort Stobes. Trust me, I'm on the judges panel and I know the level of entries that have gone before. Last years winner did as his Bard's Crown Poem, the most electrifying performance piece that was a modern version of Macbeth.
