Need to buy some for Diwali, and didn't get round to it before the 5th.

Mackays Hardware on New Park Road normally sells them for quite a while after bonfire night.

They were still selling them in Woolworths this morning when I went in there. Only about an hour ago.

Was going to suggest New Park Road.

You could check to see whether the Nisa/Mace post office on Brixton Hill has any left

It's Diwali on Friday, so they'll probably be easy to come by until then.

Just noticed in your OP that you actually want them for Diwali - Dur.

Well most of the shops in Sheffield seem to have them.

What a fine shop the New Park Rd hardware store is! Friendly owner and a very good selection of fireworks. I have not shopped on that road before (didn't realise what was there) - but will now, lots .

The guys in the hardware store are LOVELY. They're always nice to me when I wander with DIY problems and have no idea of the names of the things that I need :o

Try the brownies in the deli. Nell, the owner, makes them and they're lush. :) Good coffee too. And the Doorstep Cafe is an excellent greasy spoon. And Lawrence the greengrocer is a top, top bloke.

It's a great row of shops.

It's Diwali on Friday, so they'll probably be easy to come by until then.I thought Diwali was a five day festival and Friday was day three?

I read day 5 was yesterday and for anyone still interested in Fireworks, I saw Nisa/Mace on Brixton Hill was still selling them on Thursday

I reckon it's been quite quiet this year as far as the yoot throwing them around is concerned. Have the police cracked down?

They cracked down on shops selling them, particularly those that weren't fussed about the age of people buying them....I think it was a joint nudge from Lambeth too.

You spoke too soon. It was like Beirut on our street last night. :(

They obviously went further afield....I could hear from my place on the other side of the railway.....

From my penthouse suite overlooking London I could see loads of displays last night. There were a lot of pretty good ones as well.
