Haven't seen any mention of the usual Urban fireworks meet, so...

Brockwell Park fireworks display takes place on Friday 2nd November 2007 with fireworks starting at 7.25pm.

It was freezing there last year. I'm thinking maybe Clapham Common instead so anyone know when that one is?

Clapham?
As its only a couple of miles away, why should it be any warmer there?

Well I just thought the walk from the bus stop to the fireworks would be shorter :D

Sorry to everyone who I managed to not meet up with..

The annual..."We're by the 2nd tree on the left near the orange bicycle and the kid with the light sabre".... etc etc... failed to work... :D

We spectacularly managed to not locate 3 entire groups of people but did accidentally run into the lovely Wrysmile and Kaiser which was brilliant.

Sorry all.. :o

I notice the men in tabards confiscated people's sparklers this year.

I despair sometimes.

This country is turning into an enormous slap on the wrist.

Does anyone know if there is any fireworks on locally tonight - given it is actually Fireworks night tonight?!

I think most of the displays were done over the weekend - Clapham Common, Battersea park, Streatham Park have. (as well as Brockwell Pk, obviously)

Also I remember seeing Alexandra Palace on the listings for Saturday

what's wrong with having events on the actual days they are supposed to be on?

May Day is normally something rubbish like May 3rd, fireworks are on 2nd Nov, we might as well have Christmas day on New Years Eve so we can celebrate them both together

maybe it's because children go to bed earlier on weeknights? so if the fireworks are on Friday/Saturday families can go and watch and stay up late together, rather than rush home...

They wanted to take our beer off us as well, as it's a kids event

I wasn't planning on giving any beer to any kids

Luckily I had two flasks full of brandy coffee in my bag

Stupid fucking rules

I haven't been there for ages, isn't there usually a bonfire, seeing as it's bonfire night?

Lambeth really know how to gnarl up an event, half the gates were closed as well, and the gaps in the railings had been closed - stupid stupid stupid

:)

well if that's the reason (parents worried that little jonny and little tabitha wont get enough sleep) then why take them to the fireworks at all, given they are likely to burn their hand off with a sparkler, get hit in the face by a marauding rocket, or given alcohol by strange adults? ! ;)

Oh, I don't know... But did you notice that there was a young child at your house this weekend, holding a sparkler and generally causing mayhem? Did you? :p

That wouldn't have been possible on a weekday... ;)
