On BBC2 here yeterday - anybody see it - and whats the view.
I was impressed with the fact that unlike previous time travel tales - this group had proper work to do (down a mine !) and some support from outside the family.
Looks like its going to be a good series .....

We're saving these on Sky+ They are fantastic, we toyed with the idea of applying when they first advertised for families.
For anyone who's interested and wants to see more Big pit
http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/bigpit/ is well worth a visit.. staffed by miners who guide you down a deep mine( full of stories and banter) you can see the pithead baths, the medical rooms, hear stories told by the miners themselves( recorded and played back)
and
St Fagans
http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/stfagans/
has miners cottages( shown through the ages), a welsh village schoolhouse,a miners institute
Only seen the first one... was a bit "oh no, BBC Wales latches on to reality TV just as the bubble bursts and opts for mining cliche as well" about it but stuck with it.
It gripped you when the mam with the one-year-old realised she didn't have any milk for the baby and cried. She couldn't pop down the all-night Spar - mainly cos she didn't have any money to buy it, didn't have a car and there wasn't a bleeding Spar.
So the neighbour helped out - "cos that's what we've all got to do in this community". Cliche one ticked off the list, but it left a warm feeling.

Apart from the electric lighting it wasn't that different from my Mams house in the 70s! :D
I enjoyed it a lot, but probably mostly appeals to people form the Valleys.
did not see it but i know the guy in it, well kinda i recall him getting hit by a car when he was 10 in my village.. so there.
