Only just seen this: apparently Symonds was subjected to racist taunts, chants and gestures during the recent ODI series in India

anyone know any more or have anything to say about this kind of racism in India? You always kind of hope that it's purely a white/western malaise purely from the point of view of faith in humanity but it's sad when you're proven wrong

India is inherently a very 'racist' society as are nearly all others.

yeah, just after I posted I thought of the whole caste bollocks and of course the inter-religious tensions in India as well.

The article I linked to also mentions Sunil Gavaskar's comments in the 1980s about the West Indies only just being out of the jungle and that.

Ah, it's all crap innit :(
