A DOUBLE-decker is driven through London’s streets yesterday — carrying an obscene jibe about Mayor Ken Livingstone on its roof.
Office staff roared with laugher on reading “Livingstone is a c***!” in 3ft-high letters.

Wasn't yesterday Sunday? Wouldn't have been many office staff around to see it.

Oh. In that case then yes. How hilarious. Those crazy kids. And those moronic Sun readers. :)

September 4th, The Sun runs a story "Could a buss make Boris [Johnson] boss", saying how he plans to design a new route-master style bus.*

Then, on the morning of the 7th, someone's done a very nice, neat graffiti attacking Boris' rival Ken. The Sun reports it with the line: "Red Ken has been blamed for axing the famous Routemaster buses."

Shurely not some connection? Johnson has been criticised for being 'out of touch' with regular londoners. This graffiti, with it's nicely dotted 'i's and crossed 't's, serves to sever Johnson's rival with the London 'street' by using naughty 'street' words like cunt. What a fantastic and timely advert supporting Boris' campaign: three hours of advertising throughout central london, reprinted in the nationals, all for free.

I reckon it was a Tory job.

Either a Tory job or some poor victimised Chelsea Tractor driver, incensed that they will be made to pay £25 a day soon for using a monster truck to pick up Beatrix from school.

You missed out Evening Standard reporters hilighting how bad security is at bus stations.

I did read in teh Standard (:( ) the other week, one of its long meandering vox pops on the conegstion charge ( I wish I could find it to link, but cant ) - where to K&C resident stated that in fact the Congestion charge will increase the amount of cars in London, as everyone buys a small runabout to supplment their garage and to avoid the £25 charge.

I never thought of it that way:rolleyes:

that wouldn't increase the number of cars on london roads at any one time though, it would only mean that within the congestion zone smaller cars would become more common over time: one driver can't drive two cars.

the only way it *would* increase the number of cars on the road would be if there were residents at the property who *could* drive, but hadn't done in the past because the property had only had one car. I think this will be a very small number of cases though, because if a household can afford another car just to avoid paying £17 a day more for the congestion charge, they would probably have already bought a car for the second driver at the house.

furthermore, given how expense garages are in london (many tens of thousands of £££), i think it's very unlikely this will have any significant impact at all.

It might well have been done by one of the poor benighted bastards who are having to suffer due to Livingscums support for the olympic disaster. I was shocked to hear on a TV prog last night that Livingscum sits as a director on one of the Olympic delivery organisations. I wonder how much he is trousering for that and at what cost to London's community.

My initial thought was an inside job at the bus garage by someone in support of the strikers

I thought it was ironic they chose a bus as bus services have vastly improved under Ken.

It might well have been done by one of the poor benighted bastards who are having to suffer due to Livingscums support for the olympic disaster. How is anyone suffering through Ken's support of the Olympics?

You could probably keep a Smart Car in the back of a Chelsea Tractor.

How about all the small business that have been bulldozed, the land that could have been used for public housing whichis going to be used for private housing, the drain on London's resources. Ken as Mr London, Mr cash trouserer more like.
