View Full Version : Where can I buy rice paper in Brixton?
... or near to Brixton?
You know, the edible stuff to line the bottom of macaroons and the like.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Brixton Urbs :)
The kitchen department in Morley's (lower ground floor) always seems to have everything cooking related. Worth popping your head in there.
Hmmm.. I thought of that, but they don't do yer actual foodstuff, do they?

if not you can make your own by soaking sheets of kitchen roll in a solution of rice (not rinsed so it retains its' starch), white sugar (or honey) and warm water. then hanging up to dry.
turns out great and tastes delicious :)

Really??
Sounds quite odd.
I've bought some rice paper from the Chinese supermarket. Ingredients are rice and water. Is this somethign I can use as intended for baking?
I'll post the same question in Suburban, I think.
Try the "baking" section of Tesco?

I know - seems sooo obvious now. I'm not experienced in these matters, rice paper seems a bit exotic to me. I'll have a look in there tomorrow.
