Excuse this SE7-dweller barging into the Brixton forum, likes, but I've a question.

A mate of mine's boyfriend is DJ'ing (techno, innit :rolleyes: :( :D ) at the 414 on Saturday night. I've half-agreed to go, although tbh I only get back from Scotland in the afternoon and I'm unlikely to be in the mood for it.

My question is, is the 414 any good? What sort of crowd's it attract? Am I going to have a good night (probably, actually: I do have pre-ordered drugs :D ), or am I going to spend the night wishing I'd stayed in with the ex?

It's awful banging music. lots of gurning types. not my sort of place at all but each their own. I recommend you bring earplugs with you. Oh and enjoy!;)

enjoyed it at the time but would not be going there these days tbh...

If full on hard house/techno is your thing it's as no-nonsense as it gets.
The place is friendly, the security laid back and I've always had a good time there even if the music is not to my taste at all.

But it is as full-on as you like downstairs (the upstairs chill out zone is fine though). They've even got a little outdoor area now too.

Be sure to pop into the pub next door!

If I come down to Brixton I'll definitely nip into the Albert. Tbh, I'm tempted just to see my mate in there for a swift half before she goes on to the club: I'd like to see her, but it really doesn't sound like my sort of night, either from what she tells me about the music or what anyone on here's said! :D

Have not been there since about 1996ish, but from what I can remember a total off your nut, sweating like a Turkish wrestler, sweat dripping from the ceiling kind of place..
