Good morning brixton ...
Wonder whats going to happen today in brixton ?
Around 1500 people will catch the x33 bus for less than 4 stops.

It's a secret express service that goes straight to Liverpool St with only 4 stops along the way.
It leaves from behind the burnt-out petrol station and is disguised as a church minibus.

I think Express buses would be great.
This is my proposed plan for the X159
Pick up on Brixton Hill by Jebb Avenue, once more at the Town Hall, straight through to Kennington, pick up outside the old Bingo Hall, straight on to Guys and St Thomas Hosptal for another pick-up, cross the River, stop outside Westminster Abbey (where I can get off and walk up Victoria Street), go round Parliament Square, stop off at Cabinet Office, go on to Trafalgar Square, stop off at Cockspur Street, and then after that, I don't give a shit where it goes as I don't work that way :D

That sounds like a good idea. Don't need to bother with the town hall though. It should be just for Brixton Hill residents, and should have reclining seats.
Actually theres already an express bus that I see whistling through Tulse Hill sometimes...

drives me batshit too - i need to get the 133 all the way to work, and it fills up with people a) who could bloody WALk down brixton hill and b) could get any of the other 250,000 different buses that do the same route to Brixton.

That's why I'm saying it should stop at the Town Hall rather than the tube, then people wouldn't get the VITAL buses (ie. the 159 and 133)

I used to have the same problem with the 159 when I worked in Whitehall, so now I start at 10.00 at any job I go to

I'm one of those people.
I could walk down the hill but then I'd have to get out of bed at least 5 minutes earlier in the morning.
More to the point, why don't you walk down the hill and get on the bus once we've all got off?

because, unlike years ago when half the passengers used to get off and go to the tube, that no longers happens. Sometimes the bus is as full leaving Brixton as it arrived there, and if you're not in the front of the queue, you can't always guarantee getting on.

In this scenario, ie. getting on the bus at Brixton, me having gotten on the bus up the hill and then off at the station will be to your advantage, as it will mean that someone can take the space that I have just vacated. Whereas if I had walked down the hill, my space might have been taken instead by someone who stays on the bus after the station and therefore there would be less room for people getting on in Brixton.

No, because at Brixton there will be a bigger queue than if someone was on the Hill waiting for it, and therefore, if you hadn't got on it in the first place, then that place would be vacant :p

That doesn't make sense.
Either I walk and you get on the bus on the hill, using the space I would have taken if I had got on the bus on the hill, or, I get on the bus on the hill, and you walk, and then you get on in Brixton using the space I have just vacated.
And seeing as I walk up and down the escalators at each end of my tube journey, you need the excercise more than I do.
Anyways this whole discussion is academic because I seldom get on the bus before about 9.30 anyway, by which time there is enough space for everyone anyway.
