A friend of mine is planning on travelling to Australia next June for 6 weeks via Singapore on the way, and Hong Kong on the way back.

Unfortunately, having looked at Malaysian and Singapore airlines on-line, you can only book a year ahead, so I'm assuming Quantas and Emirates are the same.

BA had outrageous prices and I told her to steer clear of them anyway as they'd only lose her luggage :D

Any idea whether she should risk trying to book through a travel agent now, wait until end of July when prices will be displayed or wait 'til October when there's sometimes sales on?

Who do you reckon would offer her the best price? She'll be travelling from Ireland to London with her husband and 2 kids.

Would also be looking at getting a couple of internal flights once in Australia
