Sign on Barclays door said 'closed till further notice due to severe flooding' when I walked past the other day. Maybe they've got a big basement.

This was yesterday supercity...Dont think van loads of police would be sent for a floodin.
Unless all the money was startin to float under the doors...

(( awww new I should have gone for a closer look )))

Well, outside the bank is the preferred hustling pitch of choice for dealers, so maybe the police were having a sweep.

Don't think there is a basement under there. Is probably the flats above, they were a bit if a state when I viewed them a while ago.

They're closing that down now :D

Because it keeps getting raided?

They did that to the one on South Croxted Road by West Dulwich station.

Though the one in Herne Hill was only opened about an hour a day anyway!

Yes. Apparently it's been raided around 13 or 14 times this year

Three times, twice with heavy weaponry. It may never open again

4 times in three months according to the SLP.

By the way, does anyone else think it's worrying that there was an attempted armed robbery of the HSBC on Streatham Hill last week (http://icsouthlondon.icnetwork.co.uk/0100news/0200southlondonheadlines/tm_headline=cops-in-disguise-foil-security-van-raid-plot%26method=full%26objectid=19397642%26siteid=50100-name_page.html), where the suspects were caught by police, and thought to be responsible for other raids in the area - only to be released on bail that very same day.

Now, when I was a kid, if police caught an armed robber, they got send down for a very very long time, they certainly weren't sent home on the same day!

Jails / remand centres must be very, very full. I'm sure the police involed must be "frustrated" to say the least.

its actually 13 times in the last 4 years - but that's still a shit load. they're closing the bank but apparently the cash machine will remain in use ... so its just pedestrians that get jacked now
