Two or three years ago I used to quite often end up in Plan B on a Friday night ... normally a good atmosphere and a reasonably good selection of music. In fact the music selection was something along the lines of what they claim in their current fliers / on their website:
"international soul, funk and hip-hop"
Well, not having been for a while, went down there on Friday. What a waste of time. Little other than cheesy RnB all night. The room downstairs was playing something marginally more interesting which at a few points could almost be described as funk, but was pretty much empty and they closed it by about 2 o'clock.
Did I just catch an off night or is the routine now? Is there anywhere left in London that actually plays proper hip-hop, ie. NOT RnB, on a weekend night?
