Hello.

I visited London a few weeks ago and had an excellent holiday. I took these photographs and wish to identify them.

Thanks for any help.

Bye,
Penny.

I thought the first one looks like the Royal Courts of Justice down the Strand but i don't recognise the tower bit at the front.

The tower is the Hyde Park Tower Hotel, I think.

3 is defo the Park Lane Hilton.

I thought the 1st one was the back of the High Court as well but the tower thing at the front makes me believe otherwise too.

Thanks very much, everyone, for the quick replies. Very helpful. The Inner Temple was what had occurred to me, and I had the Hilton in the back of my mind.

I have one or two others and will post them later.

Quite possible, PacificOcean. I'll do some searching. Thank you.

I have an album at Webshots of other photos for identification. Probably easier than posting them here.

This link should take anyone who is interested there. Thanks again for all your help, everyone.

Yeah, it is - it's the main entrance to the Australian Embassy. Or was when I went there last to get horribly wasted.

Oh, just seen the other photos:

Bridge pile = Blackfriars Bridge
London Clock = prob the official residence in front of Guildhall (Gresham St) - went to a BBQ on the roof once
London Street 02 = Parliament Sq, Parliament on your right
London building 03 = river side of Shell Mex House, front entrance on the Strand
London Sq 01 = sq that best fits that imo is west side of Berkeley Sq, Mayfair -partial guess though

Don't think the Drury Lane one is Drury Lane, though.

Nope...

Number 2 is a bit difficult to tell, looks exactly like Holborn bars but also looks like temple.

Thanks, again, everyone. Excellent help.

No, it's not Drury Lane, that's my mistake. I have it as Bow Street. We did walk past Berkeley Square.

I'm really pleased to have more photos identified.

The one labelled London Building 01, the Georgian building, is Montague Street just behind the British Museum.

The one currently labelled as Berkeley square definitely isn't right as I know that square quite well. I'm pretty sure it is Victoria Gardens nr. Victoria Station - I recognise the funny little buildings with shells in them.

The one labelled as possibly Drury Lane again definitely isn't. I'm 95% sure that is Holborn Viaduct and that the building with the diagonal white pillars is the entrance to City Thameslink.

The 'Leaning Tower of Pisa' is somewhere in the City but I'm not sure where.

The 'Dutch Style building' is indeed Bow Street.

The leaning tower is on Cannon Street, it's an office building, recently re-furbished. I think it's called Cannon House or something.

It's one of my favourite buildings.

Ok, my go

1: No idea. Looks familiar though. I'd say its in Whitehall.
2: This converted officy place next to Chancery Lane Tube - towards Farringdon
3: Hyde Park Hilton
4: The semi-circular roundabout at the Shepards Bush end of Holland Park

2 and 3 are definately right.

Number 2 is this place

Holborn Bars. As Minnie pointed out. I used to work across the road.

Number 4 isn't where I thought it was. Could be fucking anywhere - though the way the road connects up reminds me of one of those squares near Russell Square.

4. Park Crescent (top of Portland Place))

Pretty confident this one is the corner of Bedford Square - you probably took this one and then carried on to Montague Place where one of the other photos is taken.

Looks like you did some good exploring :)

Holborn Bars, it's where The Prudential are based. Looks like this from the outside:

It used to be the headquarters of Credit Lyonnaise. Not sure who's in there now. As you say it's been totally refurbished and looks fantastic..
