Thought some of you might find this interesting. I for one found seeing his shooting style - sort of awkward, embarrassed, pretending he wasn't really doing it - fascinating.

Everyone hates Winogrand I take it ;)

I find his photography very uninspiring and can't be arsed to read the interview. May read it later if life gets a bit dull.
I think his approach to photography is very different to my own. Not my cup of tea.

The video was posted here a while back on this board, I think.
It's interesting viewing.
BTW, If anyone is near Koenig's Bookshop on Charing Cross Road, they have a big book of his stuff ("Figments from the Real World") for £16, which is a bargain (usual price £40). They have quite a few cheap-ish photo/art books.

Mr Edwards - fair enough (it's a video though - no reading required). I find his style captivating. Doesn't have to be him though - there are lots of no-names who have done/are doing the same sort of stuff and I love it all :)
Paul - bugger, nowhere near me. Would have been great to have a rummage through.
Just looked through some of his work, many photos I recognized from books but wouldn't have remembered the photographer. I love the world's fair shot with the gossips on the bench.

The Animals was a classic, and I'd like to have a look at Public Relations.
I'll check that link out when I get a moment, ta :)

alef - you're right, there are many iconic images by him that are just monoliths in their own right ... the bench one, the guy in the wheelchair that Firky posted in another thread recently ... all great stuff.
I'd love to know if there are any other video interviews of the 'greats' out there - I found this one really interesting.
