Hi,
We're wanting to have a nice day trip in the car on bank holiday monday, but can't decide where to go. Kinda feel we've done brighton and oxbridge. Went to Dungeness a bit ago and that was ace... Any recommendations?

down the A2 to the medway towns...loads to see and do..an hour from london.
rochester castle,
cathedral,
oldshops.
the river.
if you fancy something a bit more unusual (dungeness style) try the isle of grain...turn off the a2 at strood . its the bit of land between the thames and the medway.
upnor castle on the medway river...good pubs, kings north power station, cooling, hoo....all pretty interesting...old forts etc..
or go down to the strand in gillingham on the medway
or if you wanna go further in that direction what about the cinque ports...rye etc..

yeah kent is nice
there is allways the shepards neane brewry in Faversham (a town where town planners cunningly pre-empted its 'brown town' nickname by naming a street 'smack alley' hundreds of years ago...
just don't go into the pub opposite the brewary as its the only pub in the town not affiliated with the brewary and order a pint of shepards neane, they will just swear

aww theres that great pub in faversham....out on the river by the sea wall..forgotten its name...across a load of fields,,,mmmmm Hurlimans
We just had a lovely day out walking round the South Downs from Duncton. We did a pretty hefty hike, but there are shorter ones too. Lots of pretty towns/villages, about an hours' drive from SW London. Just look up 'South Downs' from www.nationaltrail.co.uk
