Lord knows I'm keen to enter the U75 alternative vegetable animal competition. But I'd also like to enter some produce into the fair 'proper'. I want a best in show trophy! Does anyone know how you do that?

Me too. Is there an official vegetable animal competition as well as the alternative one?

Yes, and this year it looks as though there were separate categories for kids and grown ups entries.
All over the flower show tent there are signs saying "Think you can do better - how to enter for 2008"

I saw a couple of Urban folk heading to and from the cider tent bearing their vegetable creations early in the afternoon, but did the great competition and judging actually take place:confused:
The judging for the competition took place promptly at 4pm and there were some wonderful entries.
The extravagant Eiffel Tower was cruelly disqualified on grounds of containing elastic bands, but the Sydney Opera House was a revelation while Mr T really was something else.
Photos to follow.

I'm on the mailing list so I'll forward entry requirements nice and early for next year.
