Does anyone know them? And if so could you ask them to move their frequency slightly further away? They've been around for a while, and I don't know if they've moved their frequency, or transmitter, or maybe it's someone else, but it's got to the point where I can't listen to the BBC at all, and it's a bit irritating.

I don't want to be a spoilsport - I was a big fan of pirate radio when I was younger, and I have no problem with people broadcasting in empty space without having to deal with licences and so on, I did it myself on a very small scale from my bedroom - it's fun, but I think it's a bit off to broadcast over the top of something else.

Can anyone help?

Yours,

Miserable now-middle-aged prunus who'd like to listen to Opera from the Met now and then...

It was a right pain last weekend, but I don't seem to be getting any interference since retuning my various decrepit FM tuners from 91.3MHz to 91.0MHz.

Although IIRC a year ago it was 91.0 that was contantly getting blocked:mad:

It's so bad in Brixton we've had to switch to DAB.

me too, for R3.

There are many who say sound quality on FM (assuming you've got a decent tuner) is better than DAB. This is due to the low bitrates we transmit DAB at in this country, in order to fill the dial up with as many crappy stations as possible.

Luckily R3 is currently transmitted at a higher bitrate than most other stations.

On the up-side for FM fans, Resonance FM have upped their transmitter power, I think, relatively recently.

I used to get a pretty shady signal (in Brixton) but it seems to be fairly decent now.

Agreed about Resonance. At last I get a lovely crisp signal that isn't prone to blarting and farting every time the breeze stirs.

Ooh. Cheers for the reminder. :)

I'd forgotten that the programme that the [fearless? public-service? injunction-challenging? ]BBC Radio 3 have dropped from their schedules - but refuse on pain of letters from their lawyers to allow to be called Mixing It - survives on Wednesday nights at 11.00pm on Resonance as Where’s The Skill In That?:D
