Much to my embarrassment, I went flying this morning after my leg buckled after treading on a dodgy paving slab outside Morleys this morning.

That's the second time I've trod on that paving slab this week and my leg's buckled. First time I didn't go flying though :o

On Tuesday I also trod on a dodgy paving slab outside the bus stop opposite the Sun and Doves. You'd think with the amount of old/disabled people that get off that bus stop for the hospital, they'd get it fixed

Naturally I landed on my hands as well and they're stinging like fuck and I've a long tape to transcribe. :(

I'm still raging

Anyone else had any accidents this week?

Complain to Lambeth- they may not know about it.

That reminds me that the road around St Matthews is in a dreadful state as well, and getting quite dangerous on a pushbike. I suppose I should also complain...

Nah, not worth the 4 years of grief :D What do I sue for - embarrassment and stinging palms and aching knees? :D

What you doing up so early anyway?

Compo time. My dad broke his arm in two places after stepping on a dodgy paving stone. He got a five figure sum, but it nearly bloody killed him, and he has been left with a dodgy twisted arm.

More than once I've had fish juice splatted up my leg propelled by a dodgy paving stone on Atlantic Road.....Not nice on my way to work.

It's not nice, especially when you're already 20 minutes late for work!

Is opposite the Sun and Doves Lambeth or Southwark?

Denmark Road is the dividing line, so it must be just in Southwark.

Yes, complain. For an able bodied person, tripping on duff paving slabs can just be an embarrassment but for an older/less able person, they can be a serious threat & can even virtually imprison them in their homes because they are so afraid of going-out & falling or being unable to negotiate them.

IIRC, there is a specific standard for paving & faqs on acceptable levels of damage & repair priorities should be on your council website.

Not as bad as actually falling over, admittedly, but twice this week I've dragged my trailing foot through a wall of water that's splurted out from underneath one of the loose slabs after I've stepped on it.

Soggy sock all day, not nice. :(

TandHCallCentre@lambeth.gov.uk

Try emailing them, I mailed them about a broken traffic bollard and they fixed it in less than a week(not vey well though).

I bet they do. Most of those loose slabs on the high street have been painted round to highlight them. They just haven't got round to it.

Have reported it. Am aching severely today. Discovered great big bruise on my hip last night so been unable to lie on my side. Muscles in the back of my legs are pulled and I can't move my arm above my elbow due to pain in shoulder joint. Ever so slightly pissed off :(

Only consolation is that I love the smell of Tiger Balm and Deep Heat :D

Some of the worst loose paving is outside Loughborough Junction Station - if you step on the wrong slab after it has rained, a couple of bucketfulls of muddy water engulf your feet. They are apparently on private land so LBL Highways are powerless ....... but who owns the properties... well LBL of course!

I didn't go over, staggered a bit and felt a pratt though, it's ridiculously high, can't beleive it's still there.

That's the worse bit. Much worse than the bruising and pulled muscles.

I've just reported it. I tried reporting it at the weekend from my home PC but I don't think the message went through so I've just done it again.

And of course, I tried posting on the link memspring stuck up 'til I realised I'd been had :o :D

Think they may have done a cosmetic job on it as they didn't seem to be sticking up so much this morning
