My boyfriend and I were discussing the beggers you see around the high street. And realised that we hadn't seen that skanky girl that claims to have been beaten up, and needs a ticket back to Tunbridge Wells for the longest time. Has anyone seen her? She fleeced my boyfriend out of £10 the first night I went out with him lol. So I'll never forget her. Used to see her on a regular basis. And what about the ginger bloke with the bad foot? Anyone seen him? Come to think of it, there seem to be far fewer beggers altogether these days.

I saw him a few months ago on TV. He was a witness to the shooting in McDonalds. So I know he has been around. Not seen him since then though.
I just seem to get the 'Can you do me a favour?' guy and the mancunian at the moment.
There are two young heroin users who work the Brixton Main Line trains. They're early 20s at most, thing is the fella used to act a bit of a hard nut and the girl was really quite pretty, but in the last six months their conditions seems to have disimproved sharply and they look like two pathetic bundles of rags now. :(

I think I know who you mean - really skinny, and often with scabs on her face and hands. She used to spend a lot of time near our house, in a fairly horrible/abusive situation, and I quite often chatted to her. It's tricky to know exactly what happened, but she often talked about trying to get clean, and she did have a bed at a place somewhere out in Kent. I think one of our neighbours talked to them and they were trying to get her to spend more time there. I like to think that her not being here (this was all about a year ago, and we've not seen her at all since) is an indication that things are going a bit better for her. When she used to turn up then disappear for a few months then come back again, it certainly seemed that brixton was where she came back to when things went wrong.
If it is who I think you mean, and if anyone else has some news I'd be interested to know.

I haven't seen any for ages, not even the bearded shouting man who blocks your path. Have they been ASBO'd?

Jeepers, is she still doing that? She hit on me about four months ago on Acre Lane, same story.
She is a heroin addict and homeless, the last I knew :(

There was a good looking young guy - possibly mixed race used to work the central bit but you'd also see him up and down Effra Road and on Brixton Water Lane (east). He could be quite intimidating sometimes. Haven't seen him in ages and ages and have been wondering what's happened to him.
He seems to have been replaced with an older "classic tramp" looking guy - a sort of moving blanket mountain with layers of hats and a huge white/grey beard - who seems to always be on lower Effra Road. Also quite insistent...

Oh, has he moved now. Used to quite frequently see him having a piss around there :D
