Or even better help others to!

I'm helping out at The Big Draw (details below). At the moment they're short of volunteers meaning that it may not be able to go ahead... I wondered if anyone would like to join... it's only for a few hours and it should be fun! If you are interested you can pm me and I'll put you in touch with the organiser, or you can just email directly to bigdraw@brockwellpark.com

The BIG DRAW in Brockwell Park is on Sunday 1st October from 12 noon - 3pm with 11am start for all helpers.

At the moment there are only 20 firm artists/helpers and I think we need at least 30 to enable the event to go ahead.

BROCKWELL PARK BIG DRAW EVENT: SUNDAY 1st OCTOBER 12 – 3pm

PATTERNS IN THE PARK -* CHALK AROUND THE CLOCK

Come and join in the first BIG DRAW event in Brockwell Park –
Meet at Herne Hill Gate or the Clock Tower

PATTERNS IN THE PARK *- CHALK AROUND THE CLOCK will be a creative day of free drawing for everyone and all age groups -* individuals, families or groups. Inspired by Indian rangoli patterns, it will form part of THE BIG DRAW, an annual,
month-long, national event, whose patron is Quentin Blake, illustrator and
author. We will be chalking patterns along the main path to welcome people to the park - so come and join lead artists and other volunteers and draw your own Patterns in the Park between the main gate at Herne Hill and the Clock Tower on top of the hill – near Brockwell Hall and café.

This will be an inclusive day where everyone is welcome to see the work of
volunteer artists and use their own creativity to celebrate Brockwell Park
and its beauty. Whether you are walking or using a wheelchair, are with
children and buggies, jogging, on foot, on bikes or walking the dog, you are
invited to join in following or making the trail.

EVEN IF IT RAINS WE’LL CHALK -*BRING AN UMBRELLA.

Supported and organised by Brockwell Park Management Advisory Committee.

Sounds a bit dangerous, have the council done a risk assessment/ method statement?

This sounds great fun! I want to do it, but you'll need to prod me :)

Do you mean take part or volunteer to be a person who helps out?

(Lovely to see you there either way!)

You know the somewhat dilapidated tiny pottery houses by the entrance to the greenhouses? I want someone to put up a little notice saying 'Soon to be Luxury Gated Community'

Actually.. it was lovely. People in the park really got into it and there were some really really good drawings.. and then the thunder and lightening started and all the paths turned into multicoloured chalk rivers.... :)

Gaijinboy and another friend of ours came out to take a look and ended up drawing a full English breakfast on the path!!

We all got very wet indeed!
